Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Is Kim Marinaccio still the General Manager at the Yacht & Beach Club or is it someone else now? I thought someone recently referred to a "he", but I'm not positive. For those who have stayed recently or are there now, there is usually a letter in the room with the name and contact info for the GM.

:thanks:
I currently am not there, but I believe she still is the YC/BC GM. Several sources, including LinkedIn, state that she has been GM of YC, BC, and BCV, since December 2017.

No letter during our trip this past weekend (also no letter at Poly and BLT in July either). I think for the moment the letter has gone away with the various touch less protocols?

The QR code to give feedback during your stay does still run on the resort TV channel, but I can’t recall if the GM name is on that graphic.

I’m currently at BCV and the welcome email I received yesterday is from GM Kim Marinaccio. :-)

Speaking of the QR code to give feedback during your stay, I used it for the first time this trip regarding a room issue. An on duty manager called me within a few hours and followed up again later on. I was really impressed by this feature and the follow-up.

I also used the MDE app chat feature to request towels and an extra trash pick up and it worked like a charm. That’s a really handy feature.

@Sarahslay - For whatever it’s worth (probably not much), we have historically had pretty terrible experiences with our MagicBands at Yacht Club, more so than any other resort. We also have many MBs and are used to a MB snafu or two on any given resort visit (and the obligatory “you have too many MBs” comments from CMs), but they are usually one and done issues.

Nearly every trip to YC brings “whack-a-mole” MB issues... every day and every scan brings a new adventure. Issues will migrate around between the four of us on any given day. It’s so maddening that it has become our family’s running joke... a game if you will... to see who will have the issues that day. We quietly put up with it because with otherwise love YC and none of the experiences have been “that bad” - but it does get annoying after awhile, especially when it keeps happening.

Not that I know how any of it really works, but I’m convinced there is “something” different with YC’s MB database that causes our troubles.
I had MB issues at BWI in January as well, but at least that CM was nice about it and did her best to figure it out. I think I might have caught this CM on a bad day, he just wasn't having it with me or my 3 magic bands. At least I figured out which one worked 100% of the time and just stuck it in my bag, and will do a test to see if it's the chosen one at thanksgiving lol. I do love YC, even with some of the past issues (before it was mainly just the shockingly thin walls letting me know my neighbors daily bathroom habits), I just think I got unlucky in the CM department. Probably a timing issue that could happen to anyone and just kept happening to me, but as the GR CM said to me on the phone "it doesn't matter if all these things are just bad luck on your part, how they handle it is what makes it the Disney difference. It's why you chose, and continue to choose, Disney resorts" and then she made a "wow.....and you do have a lot of stays booked with us....look at that...." comment :rotfl2:. We will see what happens Thanksgiving week since I won't be alone, maybe DH can be the lucky one with MB issues, he hasn't been to WDW in almost 3 years so might be a good welcome back initiation for him as punishment for dragging his feet.

I used the QR code about my room fridge and powerless outlets and had the on duty manager calling me within the hour, but he never got back to me. It's a shame because some stuff didn't get fixed and other stuff kept happening so it would have been nice. I tried that chat feature and it just never would work, kicked me out of the app every time.....I really just had horrible luck. I hope I can give it another go and it works on the next trip because I really hate actually talking to people lol

Her name was on the email I got welcoming me, but when I got my phone call I swear the male CM said his name was Tim and he was the manager. Although now I think it should just be "manager currently on duty". It was 8:30 pm, and I know the don't keep those GMs there 24/7, so I'm sure it was more likely a night manager.

Guest comments and complaints are usually delegated to the hotel’s duty manager, to follow up and resolve. That is most likely who spoke with you.

@GADisneyDad14 I have been concerned about getting from DHS to YC. At the end of the park day the last thing my mother will be up to is that walk. I hadn’t even thought about the Skyliner! I hate the death trap but she loves it & it will provide a nice break off our feet.

(But we’ll definitely Uber if there is threatening weather after your reminder!)

Well aware, just someone commented that they didn’t know if she was still the GM since someone else (probably me) mentioned a “he” in their conversation with a manager. I was just clarifying that I had seen her name but another manager called me, not her, but she’s still there.

Going to post a few various/random resort pics from our stay. Happy to answer any questions!

I found it interesting when I went that even with the “friendship boats are not running” sign in the middle of the dock there were still people that went out there expecting a boat to come. The first few times I saw people I thought they were just enjoying the view, but then I saw two different families (at different times) walking out there saying “nah, they’re running, they probably just forgot to take the sign down this morning” and I was like 🤦🏼‍♀️

I was there from Aug 31 - Sept 3rd and there were many inner-tubes available.

BTW, I am not sure if they are new or just new to me as I hadn't been to YC since late 2019, but I liked the 1/2 tube/1/2 in water seat things they have now (in addition to the regular clear tubes). They make for wonderful lounging in the lazy river!

We were there in March and they didn't have those at SAB when we were there. But we will look for them when we are there next month. We plan to spend a lot of time at SAB, weather permitting. :)
