Breonna Taylor Grand Jury report

But the police executed a legal order to enter. I didn't read everything and maybe someone said it, but...anyone with a problem is with the law, not with the officers actions. It is unfortunate that the boyfriend fired, it is unfortunate that the officers fired back, it is unfortunate someone died, but no law was broken by the cops. Saying they shouldn't have been allowed to barge in with a no knock warrant is valid...I actually disagree with no knock warrants too. However, at least on that night, no knock warrants were legal in Kentucky and no law was broken by the cops. You want someone (whether cop or doctor or astronaut) charged for a crime when nothing illegal was done. Its very possible for you me or anyone to cause the death of someone and no law to be broken. That happened in this case. Wanting charges is absence of a crime committed is just wanting your pound of flesh and we are too civilized of a society to allow that, even in the age of social media.

I was shocked that ABC news last night was still reporting that the police entered the wrong apartment. Get the facts straight if you are reporting. And I don't believe the Governor of NY should be throwing fuel on the fire by saying in a press conference yesterday Breonna Taylor was murdered.

They probably meant that the guy they were looking for didn’t even live there.

Except that they weren't looking for a guy.

I can understand if that was what they meant but no, they specifically said that she was an EMT and the police entered the wrong apartment to carry out the search warrant. This was after the facts came out from the Grand Jury.

MJ

Gotcha. I haven’t been following along anymore. It’s too draining.

People who have looked into this have found no evidence to support it.

This news story is a great example of how some of the news media deliberately alters information to give a totally false impression.

The story is about the Postal Inspectors Office saying there were no packages of interest delivered to Breonna Taylor's apartment. There is a screenshot of the search warrant affidavit with some things blacked out.

But...if you compare the "documentation" used in the news report with the actual search warrant affidavit the media claims to depict, guess what you find?

You find that the information about mail being delivered referred to a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ADDRESS -- NOT Breonna Taylor's apartment. WDRB deliberately falsified the info to make their story fit their narrative.

Here is what WDRB published:

528095
And here is the same section of the affidavit, with nothing blacked out to make the "facts" fit.

Ms Taylor's address was 2424 Elliot Drive.

528098

Myself as an example, I grew up in an area that was totally white. Attended private schools with all white students. My mom, who was raised on a farm but worked a few years in the city before raising her kids, referred to people of color as if they were from another planet. Seriously, the comments she would make sounded ignorant but it was all she knew. My dad worked around all kinds of people from all walks of life and served in the military so I never heard that kind of thing from him. As we grew into adults we would correct our mom. For example she would say "colored man" and I would say what color was he, purple? She would ask well what should I call him? I would say why do you have to call him anything, he's just a man. She honestly meant no ill, but she was sheltered and just didn't get it. So I have that in my upbringing. I have had to overcome it and because of my career I think I have done ok. My son is way more accepting. I can see how different he is than I was and that's a fantastic thing. But other families choose to perpetuate these attitudes. That's where the root of the problem lies.
What words do the acronym NAACP stand for?

It’s not the fact she called someone colored. It’s the fact she thought it important to call him anything other than a man. I’m thinking of one time in particular though I won’t go into it here.

Saddened by her death, but i have to say, many - most, the vast majority - of us do not live in the world Ms. Taylor lived in. Trap houses, routinely bailing people out of jail, etc. In that world, death is a daily, weekly part of the lifestyle. It just is.

The image that we were fed by the media at the beginning of this is SO different than the reality was.

If only we could do something about it. Is that what you mean?

Vast majority of the planet lives in extreme poverty and actually does live like this. Sadly us not being able to go to Disney in 2020 in the minority. Folks acting as if they have no part to play in the wealth discrepancies in our society and denying they have any part to play in the oppression of others is the issue. If one even dares bring up the issue Fox and middle American seekers of pure Christian liberty label them a socialist. Liberty is just about your guns, your ability to have to wear a motorcycle helmet or some other selfishness. That’s liberty to most folks, civil justice issues are just for lunatic protestors. Ya know the stuff that might actually effect how other people exist in real, substantial ways and not someone pretending they have to walk their property line with a semi automatic weapon pretending they live on the Ponderosa, oddly enough also a fantasy. :)
