I love credit cards so much! v3.0 (see first page for add'l details)

The struggle is real when it comes to the Chase Cards! Now that I've closed, let the applications begin! I want too many though and I know I can't do them all. So I have to decide........I'm not sure what I want to do! Obv the Biz cards keep me under 5/24 (I'm at 3/24....I hit 2/24 in Dec and 1/24 in Jan....so I guess unless I go crazy, I should be okay).

I'm looking at the....
Barclay AA Biz....honestly, I'll likely do that one today.
CIC/CIU
IHG (free have the premier)
Bonvoy
and at some point the free Hilton (but I need to cancel the Hilton biz and open an Amex slot, have 4)
Oh and at some point I'll need to look at doing a new CSP/CSR. For now I'm going to renew my current CSR (from 10/16). With the lower AF still this year, I wanna keep all the CSR perks.

I have no use for URs right now persay, but who doesn't love themselves some URs. From what the all powerful guru @SouthFayetteFan says, I shouldn't do a MDD on a CIC/IHG. So I kinda have to pick which I want to do. And then there's the 5 nights from Bonvoy. But from what I'm reading, if I'm not staying at somewhere hella nice, I might be better off waiting for a high point option instead, right? I mean I have NO travel plans right now. But maybe I could exploit the BFs perks and go somewhere nice. That would make the 5 nights worth it. Okay Bonvoy peeps, where would the 5 nights be best used (US/Caribbean areas, Europe is too hard to get to w/ him and not open yet anyways).

I guess my plan of attack is, the Barclay today.....And then decide on what to do with Chase.

HA, I wish! No....it was closing on my refi. I'm bummed that I got 2.99% and my BF just got approved for 2.75% yesterday as I was closing. Grrrrr!

LOL. See above!
I will concede that under the right circumstances a MDD of 2 unrelated cards could make sense. Things that would drive that are how much spend you have coming up, and are these offers going to expire? You just don’t want to be reckless for no reason though. If the offers aren’t going away why not space them out by 2-3 months. And of course keep your 5/24 status in mind too.

Does anyone here have any of the masks from the Disney store? If so, how do you like them? From reading the reviews, it look like the sizing has been improved but the fabric is now all polyester (from what i can tell, cotton is preferred).

Any other suggestions for masks?

So with that said, the CIC/CIU offers aren't going anywhere. So if I could hit a spend on the IHG and Bonvoy, going for a MDD would be possible? I think both have some expiration date out there, right?

Chase Sapphire MDD is still alive and working ... Wife instantly approved today for CSR!
You have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that! I've been waiting on you to make a solid decision about my own next move. I hope my luck is as strong as yours! I'm gonna hold out one more week, to bring myself down to 3/24 and then I'm gonna give it a shot. Thanks for posting!

I don't have them but isn't the inside lining cotton? That's how similar masks I've gotten have been.

For women's masks I highly recommend Tory Burch--five for $35, free shipping, very light and breathable, has nose wire. The reviews don't lie.

I go on ebay and search "3-ply disposable face mask non medical 50" and wait until I can find a 50ct box for under $0.05 each. 😂 😂 😂

I don't know enough about your situation to give great advice. You said you're 3/24, I don't know when your next card drops off. That said, yes, in theory you could MDD those two offers.

So in an update to yesterday's "listing of Chase offers" here's a bit more detail on each one:

Personal Cards:
  • Chase Sapphire Preferred (CSP) - 80,000 URs for $4k MSR: Available via Support Link
    • Apply by 11/7/20 (support links might continue to work for 1-2 weeks after that)
    • This is the highest we've seen the offer for this card in many years
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve (CSR) - 50,000 URs for $4k MSR: Public Link
    • To my knowledge there is no support link for this offer
    • This is the standard offer with no specific timeline/expiration
    • IF You get a CSP, consider grabbing this via MDD strategy
  • Chase Freedom Flex (CFF) - $200 (20,000 URs) after spending $500 in the first 3 months PLUS: Earn 5% cash back on grocery store purchases on up to $12,000 spent in the first year: Available via Support Link
    • This is the current standard offer with no specific timeline/expiration
    • This card has 5x URs categories quarterly on up to $1,500 in purchases
    • Also earns 3x URs on dining and drug stores
  • Chase Freedom Unlimited (CFU) - $200 (20,000 URs) after spending $500 in the first 3 months PLUS: Earn 5% cash back on grocery store purchases on up to $12,000 spent in the first year: Available via Support Link
    • This is the current standard offer with no specific timeline/expiration
    • This card earns 1.5x URs on all purchases
    • Also earns 3x URs on dining and drug stores
  • Chase IHG Rewards Club Premier - 140,000 IHG points for $3k MSR + $50 Statement credit after first purchase: Available at this special link
    • To my knowledge there is no support link for this offer
    • This seems to be a limited time offer but no expiration date is known
    • This is an all-time high offer I believe for this card
    • This card includes a bunch of other benefits (bonus categories, free nights, TSA credit, etc.)
  • Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless - 5 free nights for $5k MSR: Available at this special link
    • To my knowledge there is no support link for this offer
    • This also seems to be a limited time offer but no expiration date is known
    • This is an all-time high offer of this nature for this card. It has also previously offered large amounts of points.
    • This is best if you can max out your free night certificates at a 50k property making this SUB potentially worth $1,500-$2,000 or even more.
Business Cards:
  • Notably there are NO support links for biz cards right now with Chase so each of the offers below can be accessed via public link.
  • DPs have been all over the board with approvals and denials recently but it is possible (unlike a few months ago where it was an instant denial almost always).
  • Reminder that you must be under 5/24 to apply for a Chase biz card BUT it does not add to your "5" count making these VERY attractive!!
  • CIP = 100k / $15k MSR
  • CIU = 50k / $3k MSR
  • CIC = 50k / $3k MSR
Others?:
Notably missing from this list is Southwest cards. Unfortunately now is NOT a good time to be looking for Southwest cards. Hopefully that 65k or 75k offer will return soon on these cards!! There is the offer for the 1 year companion pass but honestly, I think that's a pretty bad offer that leaves a lot of points and opportunity on the table.

There are of course other Chase personal and biz cards not listed above, all with wonderful offers that might make sense for you. I just wanted to detail the ones that are currently creating some buzz! Keep your pacing in mind, don't get caught up in the excitement and get yourself shutdown!

Good luck everybody on your applications!

I'm 3/24 now. Hit 2/24 in December and 1/24 in January. So realistically w/ spends to meet, I would be back below 5/24 even if I did the MDD in Dec. I don't think I'd be ready for any MSR outside of the IHG/Bonvoy by then, LOL.

There was also speculation that you should be at 0 cards in the last 6 months. I don't know if that is true, or if it even applies to you, because we waited until she was 0/6.
I think the approval went smoother than some biz cards are right now.
Good Luck!

Notably missing from this list is Southwest cards. Unfortunately now is NOT a good time to be looking for Southwest cards. Hopefully that 65k or 80k offer will return soon on these cards!! If I missed anything of note here please clarify and tag me 😊

That's good news. I will be at 0/10 months when I do the MDD on December 15th!

@LilSweetPeaPhoto there have been many years when we haven't been able to use the 35k night certificates. Maybe I could use the 50k ones, but for me the offer isn't appealing. I prefer straight points to be allocated how I want.

A continuation of my never-ending London, Singapore, Maldives and Dubai trip next year....

On Sunday TPG (sorry, I know :sad2:) posted that the Ritz Carlton Maldives was opening in May, 2021 and had rooms available on points. I didn't need any encouragement to grab a room for 9 nights on points. I had a little snafu with our plane tickets on Singapore Air from the Maldives to Singapore -- couldn't get the date we needed, so had to push back a day. Except the last night at the WA isn't available on points and still hasn't popped up.

So I now have 8 nights at the WA on points / FN certificates and 9 nights at the RC on points (+ cash because I didn't happen to have 680,000 Bonvoy points!). I will have to pick up the Cdn AmEx Bonvoy biz card in the new year to have enough points for our stay at the Al Maha (which has been shortened to 3 nights).

Decisions decisions. WA or RC Maldives? I have been toying with the idea of a split stay; unfortunately the transfer cost makes it less then palatable. I have plenty of time to decide!

This is the base villa at the RC. Hopefully more pics will be available soon!

Still no word on DH's CIU application from last Wednesday.

Don’t worry just yet. I applied for CIU on Sunday 9/20. Never showed up when I called the auto status line, but I got an email saying they were reviewing. Finally got approved on Tuesday 9/29. Received an email in the wee hours of the morning and the card was in my account when I logged in. It was nerve wracking for sure!

oh wow, 9 days... okay. I'll just keep checking my email.

Hopefully the offer for 80k is extended and/or still open because my offer says to apply before November 7th.
I remember you couldn't apply before then, though.

Unfortunately I am not able to apply until December 15th. I received the 100,000 URs for my CSR on December 14, 2016. I hope the 80K offer is still around in mid-December!
