November 2020 car rental thread

Just got National for 11-day rental using $20 off coupon, and code 5007150 for $300. Not even near what I consider a 'good deal', but cheaper than anywhere else I've seen. Alamo is pushing $450 even with Costco.

FYI--I vacation this same time every year, and typically pay $180-$225 for this same rental.

Thank you so much! You just saved me about $75! Still not where I want to be, but better than what I had with Costco

Be aware that this is that corporate code that shows up as "AUSTIN AECOM & CTE". Use at your own risk.

Most codes on here are 'use at your own risk'. Worth it IMO.

But also you:

Not seeing much in November for codes/rates? Anyone seeing anything? Got a decent rate with this German website, but a little nervous about it, lol

:rotfl:

I figured it was worth throwing out there that it wasn't a 'fair game' code for someone who might not realize it. I am all about travel hacking, points, workarounds, etc but my personal line in the sand is weird corporate codes because the idea of being in an insurance war should we get in an accident is a bit much for me to stomach.

yeah, and I booked them BOTH. This was if the German thing don't work out, I got this other one as back-up. Your point is moot. LOL.

If anyone needs their tickets still the Undercover Tourist car rental discount when you buy your tickets or hotel reservation is a good deal if your willing to prepay. I am not normally a fan of that setup but it does say cancellations are allowed and it brings my price from 369$ for an intermediate with Avis through Costco down to $269. I could go even lower with a Budget intermediate (253) or Budget economy ($215). I had such a terrible experience with MCO Budget last time I don't know that I would use them again.

I don't know that UT rentals give you a free driver and the prepay sucks but for $100? It's an option I suppose.

I'm really far down the car rental rabbit hole today. Found a code for Avis, AWD: J064600 Coupon: MUWA033 . Brought me down to $257 for a standard--unlimited miles and no prepay. I have no idea what the AWD is for though. The only thing I can find on it is from old rental threads here and nobody knew then, lol. The coupon code comes directly from their site.

OMG!!! This is the best one yet. I was able to reserve for $212.00 intermediate car for the 8 days I will be there. Thank you!

Thanks so much. I have been debating renting a car for our Thanksgiving trip but the prices are so high. This is the best one yet.

Wow, this gave me a reservation below $200.00 for the beginning of December!!! THANK YOU

When I tried to use these codes, I was given an error that the coupon is valid only for pick-up dates earlier than 11/15/2020. Is your pick-up date later than that?

Just tried again, and I see what you mean. I was able to use the AWD code, but it refused the coupon code.

Does Avis have any sort of 'skip-the-counter' option that lets you go straight to the garage to pick up your car? I normally use Alamo for this reason but am seeing cheaper prices through Avis for some of my 2021 trips.

Edit: a quick search of the transportation forum and yes, yes they do :)

I just used the AWD code and was able to get our car reservation for $211 vs $650! The coupon code didn’t work due to wrong “pick up dates”.
Might have been stated before and I just over looked it but does anyone know what this code is? I’m a bit nervous because we always always book Alamo and am worried Avis won’t “honor the code” or “have a car for us” etc.
But on the flip side, beyond excited that I potentially just saved $400! Anybody have experience with Avis at MCO?

I have *no idea* what this code is for. I have googled it, dug through the reservation hoping to see something--nothing! I found it on one of the rental threads from months back here and nobody knew either :confused3. I am slightly worried too! I always use Alamo also and am reluctant but it is such a huge savings. I don't typically use random companies codes cause I am too paranoid but I think I am going with it because I don't have proof it is actually anyones code. LOL.

No matter what happens, I have to thank you for the code!!

Anyone have codes for enterprise? I have found it cheaper to rent at car care center under enterprise vs Alamo. I’m rolling the dice for November. I have an Alamo reservation for MCO. If no mini van is available in full size isle. I will grab one the next day at the car care center

believe this board has a policy re circumventing rules/rates, ergo not going to post the name here

It’s a corporate code that includes LDW coverage Dig a bit more in your search, the name will pop up. It’s a large, international company.

This is absolutely not a public code.

The rate it produces is a negotiated, corporate one, solely intended for their employees & suppliers; which will be spelled out in the full rental agreement
