We are trying to decide between these 2.. sounds like CT is no longer a real character experience due to Covid? So, maybe BOG would be better? any experience lately at CT or BOG and how its working is appreciated. Thank you,KIM

I would definitely not put out that kind of money for CT with only Cinderella there. Just not the same. Even BOG is a stretch. We did BOG lunch which was more reasonable in 2019. Our fav character dinner is Akershus but is not open right now.

thats the issue.. I know! I have done both but my cousin had not.. so if she really wants to I think BOG is best.. I did read that someone had decent experience... thanks so much

We had dinner at BOG last summer and it was nice. The beast around and is a good host (albeit from a distance) and the food was all good. You can still get up and go see the rose petals fall in the west wing. I liked it a lot.

That said, we definitely plan to do CRT next trip. We've always preferred it to BOG for the thrill of being in Cinderella's castle, and we've always had good meals there. Plus it is the only princess character meal available now.

Both are obviously distanced character formats, but honestly we like that format--kids see the characters and we don't have our meal interrupted.

We ate at CRT in December and honestly thought it was one of the better, if not best, meals we had during our trip. For us it was a fun splurge and we knew the experience would be different going in. The food was excellent, we got to see Cinderella, service was outstanding and since our res was at the end of the day, we had some time in the park after everyone had left. Awesome!! I prefer CRT to BOG, which didn’t impress me much, but that’s just my two cents! :)

Be Our Guest dinner is our favourite, we've been several times. Love the food, love the atmosphere and love the Beast. The CRT was okay to do one time. Food was good there too. I was a long wait to get in. Not sure if it'd be worth it at the moment though.

We always go to BoG.
Haven't done CRT in many years, so can't comment on it now

In my opinion they are both great choices. We always go to BOG and have been to CRT a few times. Both character experiences are about the same with Beast walking through the rooms at a distance and Cinderella waving distanced. I think there is something very cool about eating in "the" Castle but watching the snow fall in Beast's castle is wonderful too. I think the meals are on par with another. I am actually skipping BOG in April and going to CRT for my daughter since she is a Cinderella fan and she requested to eat in her castle. To be honest...looking forward to giving BOG a break and going back to CRT!

BOG is a really neat experience. I like how they call you in and escort you, giving a mini-tour; however, the food is so-so. CRT is "the" castle, so that has a cool factor on its own. The food at CRT was one of the best meals we have had.

I haven't been to BOG in many years so I may be biased, but I loved my recent experience at CRT! We booked one of the latest reservations of the day, so by the end of our meal, we were the last table in the castle! Service and food was great, Cinderella came out and danced around the room and visited pretty much every table (from a distance). The space felt very intimate but grand, and the food did not disappoint. There is always the wow factor of being in the castle, and ultimately that's what made it worth it for us!

Can I ask what you ordered? Hoping to snag a reservation there for our upcoming trip and while I love the whole experience in terms of the ambiance, have always had just okay food (probably ordering the wrong things).

At Cinderella's, you're paying a premium for a character meal, but due to Covid you won't get to see any of the characters. I'd do BOG.

Of course! It is a pre fixe meal and I'm not sure how often the menu offerings change, but this is what we ordered. My boyfriend also has a dairy allergy and they were able to accommodate him with every course. For the first course we both chose the charcuterie, it was assorted meats (salami & procusttio), sweet pickles, and some crostini. For entree we both got the fish of the day, which was a baked salmon! I'm not 100% on how it was prepared but my boyfriend and I both thought it was cooked perfectly. This originally wasn't listed as dairy free, but the kitchen accommodated us on the spot (which gives them a lot of bonus points in my book). It was on a bed of vegetables and some pasta, with a red tomato/pepper sauce that was very light and paired well with everything on the plate. Portion was great too! For dessert I chose the clock strikes 12, basically a chocolate mousse covered in ganache and it was decadent. Actually couldn't even finish it and took it home! Boyfriend chose Coffee Pots de Creme, as it was the only dairy free option, and we both actually thought it was more impressive than what I ordered, and he doesn't even like coffee 😂. We also tried a wine flight (couldn't bring myself to spend $50 on the otherwise $10 bottle of red on the menu) and the flight was great! Also I highly recommend trying to score a later reservation. Everything lit up, with the bonus of the park and the restaurant being empty by the end of the night made it extra special!

Yum... daydreaming now! So hard to wait for reservation day now that it is only 60 days out.

At CRTs, I ordered the chicken. It has been a few years, but I believe it was roasted and glazed with some sort of honey.

I can't argue that but BOG only has one character who walks through the room. Then you have to go stand in line for photos which obviously are not going on. So they are both the same right now in regards to character experiences.

Of the two I prefer CRT, even just for the food. If walking over to Wave or Cali Grill was an option I would pick either of those.

We did BOG in Oct and CRT in Nov. Both were very good meals and similar character interactions. Basically none, other than they are in the same room as you and you can get a photo from a distance.
