Will you get the Covid vaccine?

I live in Camden County. April 6th was the appt. I was given-I'm also going to Camden County College in Blackwood. I was under the impression that April was the earliest time I could get. I'm content to wait. :flower:

Okay good! We are in Burlington County but work in Camden county, same as DS & DIL. DH & I are pre-registered and just got an email stating it’s time for me to schedule an appt. Not sure if I will do CCC or wait until the Moorestown mall opens (mega location). We are working from home so the mall would be closer.

I will definitely get it but the way Wisconsin is going, I’ll be lucky if it’s any time this year. Seems like the state has no plan and is literally asking people to share their thoughts about who should be in the next group. While we have more than half of the already distributed vaccines sitting unused. Shouldn’t this have been decided during the time vaccines were being studied so once we had them, we could give them? I am beyond irritated and just downright exhausted mentally. I guess we’ll just let the virus continue to spread while we also have all these variants popping up. I just need some hope because any time I feel the slightest bit optimistic, it’s immediately squashed.

Im in the Camden and Burlington county area and a few of my coworkers families got appointments in Blackwood for end of this month and early February. I heard all slots are gone now but 29k appointments were given out.

My grandmother is getting hers at shoprite. They called her last week since she’s an essential employee (and a senior herself) at a LTC facility.

DS18 just started working at Amazon and is now in possession of a letter that states he is an essential worker. So he just jetted up our state’s category list from group 4 to group 1b. As Colorado is still administering to group 1a, he doesn’t know if vaccines will be available on site at the warehouse or not. He’s assuming because he was given the letter that he’s on his own to go wait in line somewhere once group 1b is opened up. I’m glad for him, as he is now our household’s biggest exposure risk. DH is group 2 due to diabetes, I am group 4 due to just being regular, and DS14 is too young according to the guidance. My parents have already gotten their first dose and are scheduled for their second later this month. They are in a continuing care place in Texas and a paper appeared under their door soon after the new year giving them their date and time to get the shot. Their facility contracted with Walgreen’s and they just had to walk across campus to their appointment. Couldn’t have been easier. I joked with them that their privilege is showing, after seeing the seniors waiting in lines overnight in Florida.

I’m glad to hear of our frontline workers that are receiving the vaccine first. It’s going to take a while, but things are definitely looking up for 2021 as the rollout continues.

I checked today and yep, all the slots are gone. I don't know how I got one, to be honest. I just stumbled into the site and booked one with no idea that the appointments were going like hotcakes.

Anyone else find this a bit concerning?

Not sure why these won’t load, but basically says 23 people have died in Norway from what they believe to be Pfizer vaccine. Can google it to see other articles.
Someone mentioned it either here already or a different thread. 13 were associated with side effects from the vaccine the other are still being investigated. All 13 of those were 80+ in nursing homes.

But it should be noted from your article: "We are not alarmed by this,” Steinar Madsen, medical director with the agency, told Norwegian broadcaster NRK. “It is quite clear that these vaccines have very little risk, with a small exception for the frailest patients.” "Norwegian authorities have prioritized the immunization of residents in nursing homes, most of whom are very elderly with underlying medical conditions and some which are terminally ill,” a spokeswoman said in a statement. “[The Norwegian Medicine Agency confirms] the number of incidents so far is not alarming, and in line with expectations.”

Would I say concerning? No not at this point though any deaths is a sad situation. The Norwegian government seems to not be 'alarmed' at the moment, looks like they are keeping an eye on the situation and are looking to get more nitty gritty into individuals who are "very frail and at the very end of life can be vaccinated after an individual assessment.”

As far as loading issues that's persistent at the moment due to site upgrades the DIS has done recently.

I think you were not sure if you wanted to get it or not concerned about side effects. I can see how you might see this news.

I don't think with the information right now it's concerning and it doesn't look like that country is particularly worried but yes something to track and investigate.

I'm getting my vaccine on Monday-I'm in MI and am in group 1b as an essential worker :) I'm nervous & excited. It was tough getting an appt. through the health dept. but I just kept refreshing on their calendar until an appointment popped up. I did the same for my mom & in-laws who are over 65. It was a lot like snagging fast passes :rotfl:

my 93 year old mom got one two days ago at St. Joe's in pontiac (on woodward, just north of bloomfield hills)
it was really hard getting her the appointment and since then they've changed the process, so it's not possible the way we did it...
providence has an online appointment system.
I believe beginning on monday, they will open up for phase 1b

I'm in Michigan too and work in a middle school. I just heard yesterday that they are going to start immunizing us on Fridays starting next Friday. I'm trying to get appointments for my parents who are in their 80's through the health dept. Don't seem to be getting a whole lot of vaccine here though. It reminds me of trying to get a boarding pass for ROTR. Although I seem to have better luck with that.

Camden county also. Me and DH booked through Cooper and have appointments for 1/26 and 1/28.
