Government Turning Over UFO Knowledge to Senate June 1st

OP - do you mean the The Atlantis Gene? Or is there another book called the Atlas Gene?

If you are referring to the Atlantis Gene trilogy - you are right, those books are interesting. They were a fun sci fi read. But they are fiction, by the authors own admission.

"A.G. Riddle spent ten years starting internet companies before retiring to pursue his true passion: writing fiction."

Sorry I made a mistake. Yes I did mean to say the Atlantis Gene trilogy. Yes I'm aware they are fiction, I think I said that, but again who knows...Thank you for correcting my error.

I would say the totally convinced on here are being just as stubborn when it comes to other viewpoints. I'm glad I fall somewhere in the middle. The arguments for both sides have been really interesting.

I for one am not trying to be stubborn. We all have a right to our own opinions on the subject. I just don't think that we really know the answer, maybe our governments do but they aren't telling, at least to date they haven't. We will see what they have to say on the subject come June, maybe. I just hope the whole report isn't redacted...;) LOL

But does unidentified = confirmation of alien lifeforms?

Not being combative... I just feel like whenever someone says "UFO!" people immediately think little green men from Mars which may not be the case...
It means Unidentified Flying Object. It doesn't mean from outer space. It seems everyone assumes that's what I'm saying. But, there is unidentified craft flying around with technology we aren't capable of.

Are we? Compared to what or should I say who? So you’re basing your whole argument on what you or we currently know here on earth. That seems like a very limited point of view. Just because you can’t see it or do it, it can’t possibly exist? Wow, talk about not having any vision or ability to dream. Before the electric light bulb or the telephone were invented did we think it would be possible? I’m guessing there were a lot of naysayers then too. I’m sure glad we aren’t all so limited in our vision and ability to dream. If we were, we would never move forward or achieve any great goals, improvements or innovations to make our lives better.

I have said several times that I am sure there is intelligent life out there. In fact, it would be incredibly arrogant to not think that is the case. However, yeah, I'm gonna stick with my assertion that no alien beings have visited this planet, at least not as long as humans have been living on it.

I also don't believe in ghosts, so...

Or people are just seeing things that THEY don't recognize. The atmosphere is capable of producing a lot of weird looking light phenomena. People just aren't that aware of those things. The very fact that people can see a meteorite and be convinced it is a spaceship tells me that those people just aren't very educated.

U(nidentified) F(lying) O(bject) does not necessarily mean alien beings. It just means the objects cannot be identified. So who cares UFOs are confirmed? We all know they exist. The alien beings being in the UFOs are the questions.

Inside Edition? That’s like citing The Star or The Enquirer. That isn’t going to convince anyone of anything.
I just searched for the known video and that link popped up… it’s not where I originally saw it. Inside Edition did not create it if that was your concern. I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything, by the way. Just sharing a video of something that’s not weird light phenomenon.
I have a feeling a video sourced from anywhere would get that kind of response, though, as has already been stated: If you have an opinion, this thread isn’t going to change it.

I guess you’re right. I know too much about cameras and lighting as well as editing to have that convince me no matter where it’s from. I feel the same when people are convinced “orbs” are ghosts when it’s just dust reflected from the camera sensor. I have actually made “ghost” images at Halloween just for fun. I know the technicalities of how to manipulate light and images so no, my thoughts on the subject won’t change.

Pretty sure Mars is not the closest planet to Earth, you might want to double check that.

Well, do you even know how far Mars is from us, and it's the closest planet! It's 34 million miles away!

Now, if you want to know the closest exoplanet to our solar system, that one is approximately 4 light years away. We have a probe traveling there now. It won't get there for another 73,000 earth years.

I mean, let's be serious here. We are a pretty intelligent species and even we can't build a spaceship that can get us to another planet outside our solar system within anything approaching a human life span.

I don't believe for one second that any other form of intelligent life has solved that problem. I find it a ridiculous assumption that some other beings have just figured out a way to skirt the laws of physics, which apply to the entire universe, theoretically.

Sorry, I meant the closest planet that MAY have supported life being Mars. Venus is closer but likely never supported life due to having an average temperature of 400 degrees, and no chance for liquid water to exist.

You have a right to your opinion, I respect that. I don’t know for sure one way or the other and for that reason I wouldn’t write it off so definitively.

Well there you go, that’s your problem, you don’t believe in ghosts… ;)

I do believe in ghosts, my grandmother visited me very shortly after she died. I was a very young girl and still remember it clearly as if it happened last night. Many years later (30-40yrs) I mentioned it to my sister who I shared my room with and she said she too saw her. We asked our cousin who said she too had seen our grandmother. I think she just wanted to say good-bye, unfortunately she scared the heck out of me. Thankfully I have never had any other encounters with the supernatural.

I don't understand this comment. If you aren't saying that they are from outer space where are they from, given that they have technology that we don't have (according to your statement).

I will be looing for this movie, thanks for the tip.

Ok, but to be fair, in the comics, modern humans, Eternals, and Deviants were all the results of genetic experiments by the Celestials on neanderthals in prehistoric Earth. In the movie, it's possible the Eternals and Deviants come from somewhere else.

Exactly. :thumbsup2

I believe in ghosts. I have had too many close to me have personal accounts of seeing them. It’s fascinating for sure.
