Temperature Screenings Ending June 15

Disneyland Resort to End Onsite Temperature Screenings As of June 15, 2021

Since reopening, we have considered guidance from public health authorities, government agencies, and our own team of health and safety experts as we assess and update health and safety measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Based on the advice of the CDC and our local health officials, and given Orange County is now in the Yellow Tier and the State of California is preparing to reopen the economy on June 15—the Disneyland Resort will end onsite temperature screenings for Guests and Cast Members starting June 15, 2021.

We will continue to monitor the guidance of public health authorities and government agencies going forward and will make appropriate adjustments in the future based on that guidance.

Disneyland Resort Theme Parks to Welcome Back Guests from Outside California Beginning June 15; Plus, Theme Park Reservation Window Expands

We’re pleased to announce that beginning June 15, 2021, we will once again be able to welcome travelers from outside the state of California back to our theme parks! Out-of-state visitors may now begin booking their return to the parks on Disneyland.com.

The State of California strongly recommends that all guests be fully vaccinated or obtain a negative COVID-19 test prior to entering the theme parks. In addition, all guests will be required to wear an approved face covering throughout their visit at the Disneyland Resort.

Beginning Wednesday May 26, the booking window for theme park reservations has expanded out to 120 days, allowing guests even more time to plan their return to the resort!

Between this news and the news that Europe is going to ease their travel restrictions, does that mean you can come to DL for your trip?

No unfortunately not. My Government is saying no international travel. I'm expecting The Irish Government to allow travel to England and to Europe maybe by September, but I don't expect the Irish Government to allow travel to USA in 2021.

Also Ireland is still on the list of countries prohibited from entering USA, which is the Executive Order signed by Biden in January 2021. Until Ireland is removed from this list I can't travel to California.

Bummer. I'm so sorry to hear that. I appreciate you keeping us company and keeping the June board up to date.

Sad that you won't be able to make a trip soon, BadPinkTink!

I'm having a hard time believing that our June 20-24 trip will actually happen. After having DL close 1 day before our March 2020 trip, it feels like who knows what could happen? But we go in only 3.5 weeks, so starting to get excited.

We've settled on staying at the Grand Californian since we are celebrating both my 50th birthday and our 15th wedding anniversary.

We are 11 days from our trip, and the two teens will be getting their 2nd covid vaccines about 5 days before we leave, so we're all feeling much better about going now. We know the teens won't be 100% immune, but 5 days past the 2nd shot is so much better than no vaccine at all. We had planned on postponing the trip if they couldn't get their shots ahead of the trip. We all finally feel like we can get excited for the trip and start making actual plans!
Work is in progress on our matching t-shirts (a tradition since our first trip together in 2009), and we've decided that they are themed to POTC this year, only the scull has a face mask on, and it's "pirates of the covid-nineteen" and "At Covid's End" instead of "at world's end". We are all amused by this, probably more than anyone else will be.

Well, I've decided to cancel my June trip after returning from the parks last week. After experiencing the parks in the midst of transition from Orange to Yellow Tier, I'm going to sit out the June 15th transition period and wait until things settle down a bit before going again. My trip dates are just too close to when many changes will probably happen.

I had a great time last week, and I think DL is doing a great job of adapting as best they can, but it was just hard to have things changing daily due to the timing of my trip. I'll probably wait for Sep/Oct when there will hopefully be more entertainment available and some of the indoor experiences may be back. I really missed having Animation Academy, Mr. Lincoln and some of the shows available for rest breaks. Hopefully things will have settled down by then.

Well, change our hotel to the Grand Californian for 6/4-6/6. I convinced myself that the shorter walk will be so much better on my pregnant self.
I've updated you on the list, good call, the shorter walk will make such a difference :)

aww sorry to hear this, well at least you did try and now you know . June is going to be a bit crazy now that they are increasing capacity and OOS can visit after June 15. Its hard when you know what it was like before Covid to adjust to changes. Hopefully things will have calmed down by September / October

Thanks. I'm definitely more of a planner than I realized!

Well, count me in for a solo trip! Two days only, June 23rd and 24th, staying one night at BWPPI. Totally unexpected!

Last month, DD 26 and DSIL made the decision to move to LA in June. They found an apartment in West Hollywood last weekend. They need help with the UHaul and getting their car plus a cranky kitty from Seattle down to their new place, and I said I'd help them caravan and be relief driver for the two day trip. We'll head down Sunday the 20th, arrive late Monday the 21st, and I'll spend the 22nd helping them unpack. Then DD will drive me down to the parks, early on Wednesday morning.

My parkhopper reservations only showed availability to start both mornings in CA, but I'm hoping that opens up more soon, and I can switch one day at least to opening at DLR. (Edited to add: I was able to switch the second day to DLR opening!)

Since I'll be solo, and because of crowds, lines, and general re-opening confusion, I have low expectations. I think I will plan to just enjoy the atmosphere rather than commando all the rides. My goal is to try some of the lesser rides that I've never bothered with before; i.e. Autopia, Gadget's Go Coaster, Astro Orbiter, etc. I'll try to get a BG for ROTR. I'll look around Avenger's Campus. I'll eat a lot of counter service/mobile orders if I can, since apparently it's impossible to get dining reservations! Looking forward to a chill, wander-around, just me trip!

Keep checking! I got DL opening almost every day that week by just checking every few hours for two days. ;)
