This feels like an SAT question. I have no clue.

I've gotten tripped up a few times and for some reason it hasn't used my Amex credit.

I know, right?

Not sure, but you can check how much you have left that expires under Uber Cash -> View Details. If you see no date then it doesn’t expire.

wanderlust7 for the win!
"$2.61 Expires 8/31/21"
So it was the biggest number shown on the receipt.

Thank you both!

or Uber Eats app > Account > Wallet > Uber Cash > View Details

I'm well on my way to hitting my IHG SUB. I just had to drop $550 on a new dishwasher. Back in Dec I had the dilemma of do I stay w/ white for my fridge or go stainless. I stayed white. Of course finding a white dishwasher was just as fun. UGH! The guy at home depot laughed and said it'll be easier to find a unicorn. Lowe's had a few, HD had none until like Nov, and Best Buy had a few.....I went w/ Lowe's. It says it'll be delivered next week....we'll see.

All I know is, washing dishes SUCKS!

And since I'm closing in on hitting my spend, I guess I need to decide if I want to pay my taxes w/ a card or not.

At least you know you'll have a dishwasher. My mom has never had one, doesn't want one. I couldn't wait until I had a dishwasher and it's one of the few things that drives me batty about living with her. There's also not room for one without losing cabinets or totally redoing the kitchen and taking out a very small part of the wall.

We were just at OCMD. I tried to take my great niece to the rides on the Inlet and it was just jam packed as was the boardwalk. Thank goodness she was tired and opted to go to the rental house after we walked the boardwalk for a bit.

I haven't rode the tram down there in years! A few times I've parked and walked to the museum but that's about it.

OD/OM have their standard Visa gift card promo this week. Picked up $400 this evening. Still have $19 K left this year.

And I've been taking advantage of coupons/offers for grocery pickup. I had several for Walmart ($5 off $50 Chase offers) and a coupon for $15 off$50 (three times) at Kroger.

I remember living in military quarters with a tiny galley kitchen that had no dishwasher in Newport, RI. We went out and bought a portable one that you had to attach a hose to the kitchen faucet. It worked. It also had to live with the kitchen table when not in use. There was an area for a kitchen table and also a dining room.

Oh man! I wish I’d known about the OD GC promo earlier - Dosh has had 4% cash back this past week but it ended today and my OD is closed now. Bummer!

She had one of those before I was born and didn't like it. All I can do is tell her to wear her glasses when she washes stuff or I'm going to have to do it all, which I don't want to do :)

Just wanted to say hello. I used to be a frequent DISBoarder many years ago when my kids were younger and we were AP holders. I learned SO much on the boards. We've been on a Disney hiatus the last several years (last visit June 2019) as our kids got older and busy with other activities. My 50th Bday is ahead, and I am hoping to take our family of six (four kids are aged 17-20 now) back to DL to celebrate with me. Back in the day when we visited more frequently, I used to use my Disney Visa for everything just for the Disney points. I still have a healthy rewards balance, but I'm moving now to travel cards. I JUST recently started getting into the travel rewards game last month. I got the CSP for the SUB, have already met the min spend, and am now thinking of my next card! To find a board here that combines BOTH Dis and Rewards Travel seems perfect!! I'm slowly learning and following various YT, Insta, TT travel hackers. Coming along VERY slowly, but I find it all fascinating. I setup Paypal Key today, so my CSP can get points for my Verizon bill and keep my autopay discount, so I am feeling especially accomplished by this mini "hack". Lol

Question: I am thinking about a Southwest or IHG or Marriott visa. Thoughts on value of initial SUBs on any of these? Also, I'm really interested in which of these you find the annual fee "worth it" just for the standard yearly perks.

Thanks! I'm excited to find ya'll. 😀

Question #2: My credit score is over 800, and I want to keep it there! Any tips to add new cards with minimum score impact are appreciated. Pacing tips (how many is too many, too fast, etc.)? Only one new card this year (CSP) plus a mortgage refi for new activity on credit report.

Thanks! I'm excited to find ya'll. 😀

Do you have a player 2? That is the easiest way to rack up the points quickly is to alternate cards between Player 1 and Player 2. If so, the best move right now would be to support P2 for their own CSP. I am not sure what the current IHG or marriott offers are but the SW is currently at its regular low point so it is not a good time for that one. Your credit score should be fine getting new cards. Sometimes it will take a quick dip after a new card but will bounce right back as long as you are paying them off to keep the utilization low.

I wish! My husband isn't interested in playing the game. He uses his Costco Citi for cashback, and that's ALL he wants to do. He's watching my new hobby with a raised eyebrow. Thank you on the SW comments. I am not familiar with their offer history, so that is very good to know!

LOL we lived in Navy housing in Newport, too. I can't remember if we had a dishwasher though since I was pretty young and wasn't doing dishes then. Fairly sure we didn't have on in the next 2 duty stations, either, now that I think about it...

I don't even know if ours was open today with the weather...fingers crossed tomorrow though! Thanks for the heads up!

A lot of people have a hard time talking their P2 into the game. Mine was reluctant until I told him how much we could make just from our regular spend. He agreed to "just one" card and now he just recently got his 14th card in the last 4 years. Which is pretty small potatoes here. lol Maybe if you explained to him that one card is worth a minimum of $1200 (20,000 points for your support and 100,000 pt sign up) just for your everyday spend he would rethink it. And you should get much more value than just $1200 depending on how you use the points. Keep reading and asking questions before you apply. Good luck.

:welcome: BACK to the DISboards!

I also like WVMomof3's idea. Maybe "he" could apply with a lot of your help?
That's worth a minimum of $1,240 for the two of you if you simply cashed out at 1 cent per point
. (100k SUB + 20k for your support + 4k for the minimum spend earnings.)
Plus you can easily turn that into a value of $1,550 with the CSP's 1.25x multiplier.

ETA: We did NOT collaborate on those responses :D

ETA: As far as pacing, we generally recommend to keep Chase applications 3 months apart and you can't exceed 4 successful personal card applications in 24 months (putting you at 5/24). This is why P2 is useful. And note that business cards don't add to the x/24 count, but you still must be under 5/24 to apply.

Many moons ago for work I was out at NUWC for several months time... Ended up working out on the end of the pier on Access Rd. Haven't been out there in years, wonder if two decommissioned carriers still sitting out there... Swear they were haunted, slamming doors and such in perfectly still waters.

Thank you both! I’m hopeful after I do our first redeems for a trip that a I’ll be able to convert him. Thank you for all the great advice!!

Awe, this made me nostalgic. We had a portable dishwasher when I was little. I remember it had a butcher block top. Not sure if that came with it, or if my parents added that? It sat under our corded wall phone, which was probably rotary. Oh, the 80s.

Our first house was a duplex with a portable dishwasher like that, butcher block included. The thing was a PIA but at least I didn't have to wash dishes. Dishes quickly became DHs responsibility since I did all the menu planning and cooking. Still mostly that way 32 years later.
