Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Hey guys! So I just got a call from DSS regarding our upcoming CL stay at GDT. She wanted to let us know we’re all set and upon check-in, we can go right up to the CL floor. I thought I’d ask if she knew of any of the offerings yet, as well as if there will be any changes. Here is what she said…

Due to Covid, they are taking a different approach to the Club Level. Instead of it being its typical Buffet type style, it’s going to be mostly individual plates. For breakfast there will be no hot entrées, meaning no Mickey waffles, or scrambled eggs. There will be the usual bagels, muffins, hard-boiled eggs, vegan option eggs, and ham and cheese bites. Snack time will be grab and go, as some of the other lounges are. Items such as Goldfish crackers, Uncrustable’s, fruit, and candy will be out. When it comes to dinner, there will be options such as crudités jars, charcuterie jars, gazpacho, tuna with spicy aïoli, hearts of palm cakes, ribeye meatballs with chimichurri sauce, salmon plate, etc. (she was reading quite fast so I was trying hard to write everything down to relay!) After hearing all this I got nervous and asked if there will be any kids options during evening hours, because everything she mentioned that will be available, I will not eat!!! 😬 She said there will definitely be a kids section and will have items such as mac & cheese and spaghetti and meatballs, however a final menu has not been completed for them yet. Beer and wine will be available upon request all day, and will be out during the evening dinner hours. Hope that helps a little for anyone who was curious for an upcoming stay.

Thanks for sharing the info! I assume it’ll be the same across all the deluxe resorts. We are looking forward to our BC stay in Feb and are excited to be on CL. Hopefully the selections and availability are worth it to us, but we will see!

Goodness, the boards did not let me know I had this reply......oopsies lol. We finally picked the dates for the trip (Dec. 5-10 2022), and I'm not thrilled with the prices of Poly CL. While I LOVE Poly and all it has to offer, over $1k for it's lowest level room is a bit much for me, hoping for an AP discount when the time rolls around but I know that's not guaranteed anymore. Normally I wouldn't bat an eyelash over it, but I'll be only a week back from a trip to Scotland for Thanksgiving, and we have an ABD arctic expedition trip (with Joe Rhode) booked for that next summer that is PRICEY, so I promised my husband I wouldn't go too crazy (I said TOO crazy, but I can still go a little crazy).

She's also not as much of a "disney person" as I am, so don't know if the castle view thing comes in to play or not.....she might be after this trip though if I have my way lol. She also doesn't have kids, and aside from my kids might not want a lounge with a ton of kids which is why I was leaning more towards BWI CL since I know it was a great one of my last CL solo trip with fewer littles around. I do have kids, but it's always nice to have more of an adult space when on a getaway trip. I'm still wrestling with where to stay, she assures me she'll love it regardless of where we stay, but I'm always looking for that place that is perfect for the trip. I just wish that WL had more convenient transportation, or that BWI had updated rooms and a slightly larger lounge.
Fwiw, I didn't mind the transportation options from WL. We loves the boat to MK and never waited long for busses. Honestly, I prefer the bus to epcot over the monorail, unless going direct from Poly. I find it annoying switching at TTC. Hopefully by then the boat to CR will be running too. Jmo.

Were there food items geared towards kids? Thanks
There was one 10 yr old boy there and it felt like an adult thing. We have had several dinners at GC post Covid and many kids have been there but this felt catered to grownups.

The only kid like thing I guess were the sliders. Lobster bisque and goat cheese ravioli don’t seem kid friendly at least for mine.

Have to say even the desserts were not kid friendly, a coffee brownie? Nope.

You’d be better off at CG I think,

I just checked CG menu, $39 for kids with a kid friendly menu will save you tons. Also you will have the same or better view from the catwalk.

I was afraid of that, there is no reason to skip our afternoon snacks other than to save them $. Grrrr

‘It is still one of the nicest looking lounges,Hope you have a great time anyways.

I had to prepare DH for the ugly and old BWI rooms . I did see WL new ones and they are less dark and more fresh while keeping a theme.

I also agree with OP that wl transportation is nice. Our stay in July the boats and buses came pretty often. We take bus for RD but any other time it didn’t matter for MK. Bus to Epcot seems fast.

Oh bwi lounge isnt as crowded now that only room inside door are cl.

As a moderate hotel, it always seemed weird to me that GDT CL had better offerings than some of the deluxes. Unfortunately, I could see them taking advantage of this reset to dumb things down at GDT in particular.

Thanks for the update, we are scheduled for 5 nights at the end of January. Unfortunately, the update is a bit disappointing. One major reason we wanted to stay club level was for breakfast. I must say that cutting back the food offerings, yet still charging the same price makes it harder to justify the club level rooms.

I agree with this, especially when they're already so expensive as it is. I understand supply issues, lack of employees, and higher running costs are causing a whole mess for a lot of businesses (my small business included!) but it's hard to think they're doing this as strictly a sanitary measure when they're fine with packing us in like sardines at the parks (or so I've heard from current trip reports).

I agree 100%. The tough thing for us, is that the time period we are going seems to be crazy busy. End of January into February, hotels are heavily booked. So, that puts us in a tough spot. It'll be hard to cancel because there is very little inventory left to choose from.

I am a heavy optimist, so I'm not planning on cancelling but I totally understand wanting to downgrade in response to the news. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we are pleasantly surprised. If I'm being honest, while it helps that I like to see the glass half full, reading so many negative experiences has made me a little apprehensive. I told my BF today that going into this trip, my only expectation is for us to have a fun time together in the place we love. Hopefully keeping it simple and rolling with the punches will help us enjoy ourselves more than if we had a ton of "must-dos" and tight plans. I hope your trip is magical!

Thank you for the kind words. That is the way this trip should be addressed. We've already had 2 flight changes (coming from Canada) we caused hotel reservations to be changed twice already. I am a heavy planner, so dealing with changes every few weeks is starting to get old, lol. I don't think I'll cancel until actual reports start to come in after the club level is open.

Thanks so much for this! It will be interesting to see what they actually have.
A little sad about the breakfast menu but we shall see. 😊

I’m trying to stay positive here. I’m hoping I got a rogue CM and maybe yesterday was her last day and she was prank calling all the guests she could call before her shift was up. There’s no way the offerings could be that disappointing. Right?!

After looking around and pricing several dates, the CL prices seemed a lot more than usual, hundreds of dollars more per room (per night!) than is typical. Even the regular room prices at all resort levels are sky high. I guess demand is still strong for now.

Does the Oasis Pool at Poly have servers?

Poly pool servers at both pools always seemed a little inconsistent pre-COVID - it’s one of the things Poly just has never done that well, IMO… sometimes there, sometimes not… always seems like new people, etc. Post-reopening I haven’t personally seen servers at the Oasis Pool (only the Lava Pool), but it’s very possible my timing has just been off and I’ve missed them. I’m sure others will chime in if they know for sure.
