How many resorts do you call home?

BWV (2 separate contracts, 1 bought direct, 1 resale) and HHI bought direct but used only once at HHI itself…

Happy to be using HHI at the resort itself this spring. But always a great lesson that no points have gone to waste in 20+ years despite not staying at the home resort except for the first time.
I still have not been there. It is on my list especially since its on the way down to FL. I hear mixed reviews about, some saying its quite boring and no good food options on sight. Thoughts?

Two home resorts - AUL and VGC, both purchased direct. The VGC contract is small so I'd add more points there if I could but that's next to impossible. We were on the waitlist for VGC for two years and I was told last June that DVC doesn't even take a waitlist for that resort anymore.

Might consider the new DL tower but it will depend on price and the decisions that Disney makes for DVC in the future. The 50% borrowing restriction is significantly impacting our ability to use our points effectively.

We are in Arizona so owning in Florida doesn't make any sense for us. There are so many properties in FL and we have enough Aulani points that we can easily book at 7 months. We aren't super picky about where we stay at WDW.

Two home resorts: SSR resale and RIV direct. We're in So Cal, so DLT will probably be our next one. I've considered adding onto SSR with another resale contract. Those are great SAP and we've used them multiple times at AUL. More RIV points would also be nice. It never ends...lol.

We own at 3 resorts in this order all December UY:
  • SSR (300 direct)
  • AUL (500 direct)
  • VGF2 (300 direct)
  • VGF1 (100 in ROFR)
  • VGF1 (400 in ROFR)

5 Home resorts for us. VGF, BRV, PVB, SSR, and BLT. Enough points for resort specific use periods (July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc) for our 3 Annual family trips for 12, and for just my wife and me. (Along with ample SAPs)

1 - OKW the original DVC.
Everyone does what is right for them and their families.
I so agree. We have owned at OKW,SSR& BWV. We have sold all our SSR and in the process of selling our BWV.Very happy having our original 190 point OKW as our only contract.

5 Contracts
OKW 1997 200pts
Vero Beach 1998 100pts
Hilton Head 1998 50pts
BWV 1999 170pts
WLV (BR) 2004 150pts

Just OKW. Back when DVC was starting, I had an original contract and four add-ons. When the kids were too old to pull from school (and not wanting to deal with crowds and/or heat of non-school periods) we sold all the contracts. I have recently bought back in (after renting occasionally for a few years). I now have one contract that will cover our grown kids (and probably grandkids) for the next twenty years. After that it's up to the next generation to figure out.

PS I have considered staying at other DVC resorts but nothing beats the room and nostalgia of OKW for me.

Hey DVC fam. I own at Poly SSR and AKL. I’m looking at beach club contracts thinking to myself how many is too many home resorts. Let me know how many home resorts you own at and if you think too many is possible!
Scratch that. Poly SSR and RIV now!

Currently two here: RIV and OKW.

On the hunt for a decent August UY resale for either BWV or BCV for number three, and will ponder Poly2 for number four in the future.

We have 4 and will likely buy Poly2 for DS once it goes on sale. DD loves BC so we will probably have to buy BC2 for her post 2042.

Once I retire I dream about a 2 week trip in December with DH once his semester ends. If that ever were to happen I would be sorely tempted to buy CCV points if we can’t book using a 7m reservation.

We have Poly, Boardwalk and Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Making myself nervous with how much I enjoyed Riviera for my birthday, need a couple years of figuring out how well our points balance works before trying to add more again.

All direct, same UY

SSR bought when it opened
AKL
VGF2

Owned and sold BWV (resale)

Have had an annual pass for as long as I've owned DVC so this is a very important perk for me.

If beach club 2 becomes an option I'm buying. Its one of our favorite resorts and have almost bought a few contracts there. I personally can't get over the 2042 expiration so if they decide to extend or sell a second one we're in!

My Poly contract is the only resale I have, same use year for all. Im starting to favor direct lately since the last 4 resale contracts I put in have gotten taken.
