I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

I think it is the portal. I've booked hotels through the portal and at checkin they ask me if this is my phone number - 800-xxx-xxxx and I say no. Definitely think directly contacting the company after booking is a good thing.

We booked activities through the portal for almost every trip, I’ve never had an issue but I always contact the company directly to give them my contact information.
I have booked quite a few activities through the Chase portal, Alaska, Costa Rica, London. I always contact the vendor directly to confirm that they have my booking and the plan is...whatever I think it's supposed to be. I've only had 1 issue and that was an airport pickup in London. The company was in Netherlands and contracts with drivers in UK and the assigned driver dropped the ball. He called the day following our pickup and said he was waiting. Umm no, he had the wrong date.

I am taking my nephew on his HS grad trip in '24 or '25 (the other 2 were delayed by 1 year bec of Covid, so I may keep that timeframe in order to save up more pts). He is leaning toward Israel. I was thinking maybe we could do Israel for a week and then Egypt for a few days/week. However, there is a Level 3 travel advisory for Egypt. So we will probably skip it. Any advice on travel to Israel?

WOW! Reading other people's spends right now, maybe I shouldn't worry about the $15k I'm trying to hit for the FNC, and the $5k for Marriott. Especially knowing the spends I have coming up ($1500 for hotels in Vegas, the holidays, winter taxes, home insurance, etc). Maybe I'll bite the bullet and do the CIU this week, LOL.

In looking at the offer for elevated status for AA, am I missing something? You get it free for 4 months. But essentially to extend it, you're basically hitting the same spend as it takes w/o the offer....I guess it's spread out and you still have SOME status while you're earning it. I thought maybe it was an offer for elevated status that was much easier to get. But at the end of the day, you're still hitting the threshold for gold, plat, etc. I'll wait to activate it, and won't really go above and beyond on trying to hit it, LOL.

I got my escrow analysis from Chase which made me think I should ask them to get rid of my escrow account. I'd rather pay my property taxes myself with Visa gift cards. I guess I'll sm them and see what happens. I have a lot of equity in my house if that matters.

I'm also in the middle of a ton of house projects. Irrigation went in Friday (they accepted credit cards). Landscaping is next. I'm having my cabinets painted and replacing my ugly brown quartz counter tops. The counter top company should take credit cards. Also ordering new knobs and a faucet. Next up will be the kids' bath while they are both at school. It is so poorly laid out (two tiny small rooms with a door that takes up a lot of speace) and just very dated. Should easily be able to get 2 more Hilton FNCs before the end of the year (only have $3,400 left on one of the two).

I have gotten escrows removed with Chase in the past, it was very easy.

You are correct about the AA status. Really the only reason to take the offer is for the 4 free months, because otherwise yeah, they’re just spreading out the spend.

For me having to do $18k/3mos is completely idiotic. I’ll manage it through a few different routes, but it will be a chore.

Are there any significant updates to chase business cards I should know about? It’s been a few years since I applied for one. Is there a quick guide anywhere?

I know that there was talk at the time about P1->P1 links being used - is that now taboo? (trying to find a way to word that as I recall there being talk about not being overt about that at the time)

P1-P2 support is fine. It's up to 40,000 URs though, so I will be getting a 1099 from Chase this year.

Comparison chart below - the CIC/CIU supported are giving75,000 URs, there is a (currently not supported) 90,000 offer out there that many have been able to match to once they have applied with the 40,000 links. CIC and CIU still giving 0% interest on purchases for 12 months.

Home! Well arrivals waiting for my mom and Tux to pick me up.

Unpopular opinion around many places but aside from Disneyland, I don't care if I ever go back. Not my vibe and I did have fun but I also didn't always. Not being solo maybe would have helped a small bit but not really.

Does anyone know for Delta, if I purchased a ticket using a credit + paying, if I cancel the ticket will I get the credit back? I had $200 credit from another flight and used it plus cash to buy a ticket that I may cancel. Just wondering if I did, would I get the credit back to or just the funds charged to my credit card?

Yes don’t use your own support link to apply for a card…not familiar with a guide anywhere maybe someone else can help

I'm afraid this is how I will feel. I'd so much rather go to Europe next year but this will be my son's trip.

I'm sure your mom and Tux are happy to have you home:)

Are you cancelling within 24 hours? If not, doesn't it all become a credit? I just booked a ticket for Nov and had a little ecredit left over that would have expired 12/31. I just "rebooked" my flight to a lower price and the extra came back as a credit w/ an exp date of next August (when I bought the ticket).

What things do you have planned? We absolutely loved Japan but I could see it not being for everyone. I actually felt that way about Germany. It was a good trip. I have absolutely no desire to go back though. At least for us, some of the best things we did in Japan were non touristy, off the beaten path type things.

No it's a flight in a week and a half. I'd be fine for it all to become a credit, the credit I used was over 50% of the price of the ticket, so if I was to loose the original credit, I might just go on the trip. If I can get it all back as a credit, I'm thinking that I will cancel it.

Is there any way to view closed Chase Ink cards? I was going through our sock drawer cards and found one of DD's ink employee cards for a card she must have closed. Neither of us remember actually closing one of her cards though.

Love traveling in Israel. Jerusalem area is easy on your own. light rail from airport. it stopped right near our hotel. walk to old city, walked to Hadassah (chagall's windows) we had a tour guide who showed us theeexcavations etc also things about the old city. walk tp Yad Vashem (along with light rail)

we then had a private guide and minivan to go to other areas. we rented an air bnb in tel aviv and they picked us up daily.

that was my 3rd trip. i lived on a kibbutz for 3 weeks and toured 3 weeks when in college.DH and I did a 10 day toour wh 3 days in Egypt as well. I don't love the big bus way of touring

flew EL AL from EWR direct. remember they don't fly on Shabbos. (friday evening to saurday evening)
