Three Things...Gratitude Thread

It's cold here a LOT so I have a list!

"The Bear" DD bought me a wearable blanket for Christmas. It's fuzzy and warm, with long sleeves, a hood, and POCKETS. I pull it on over my head and it keeps me so warm! The Resident 7 Year Old said "Lee, I thought you were a bear!" Hence, the name!

My fuzzy lined crocs. My feet are 2 different sizes and I have a fallen arch, so shoes are always a challenge. Crocs work best for me, and I absolutely love my fuzzy lined pairs. I have three pairs, but my favorite is the pair that is shiny gold sparkles!

Hot tea. I am an avowed coffee girl, except on cold winter evenings. Then, give me my old "Pepper Market" huge mug filled with hot tea. I'll drink hot tea all afternoon and evening.

It is so cold here is MA this week I don't even want to leave the house. The three things I am most thankful for in cold weather are,
1- my garage so I do no have to scrape snow and ice off my car and it is a bit warmer to get into
2 - scarves because I feel warmest when I am not in the house when I have one around my neck
3 - my warm cozy bed because no matter how cold I am throughout the day I know I'll be toasty warm all night.

TGIF Friends!

Snacking is something I don‘t do often, but when I do, these are the things I would have….

#1 - String Cheese - it’s just enough to tide me over until the next meal. It’s also nice and portable to take with me to work

#2 - Peanut Butter on Ritz crackers - only if I’m home

#3 - Pretzel Twists - Sometimes I’ll have some on a Sunday afternoon, and I like taking these to the movie theater (in a ziplock)

I don't know if my body is necessarily thankful for these things, but my tastebuds sure are!

1. Cheese & Crackers - Set me up with some brie/camembert (or something else soft, buttery and tangy), a block of dill havarti, and maybe some smoked gouda - along with some toasted sesame crackers and I'm a happy girl!
2. Beaver Nuggets - We live in TX and there are quite a few Buc-ee's in the area. Beaver Nuggets are so addicting.
3. Deviled Eggs - They're more of a holiday/special occasion snack, but they are a house favorite.

Honorable mentions to things like 7-layer dip, spinach artichoke dip, creamy jalapeno ranch and chips, mixed nuts, crisp apple chips, my former coworker's lumpia, veggie and cream cheese pinwheels, and the basic puffed cheese doodle.

AND this is why I try to limit snacking! LOL

Today's Topic (Fri, 1/19) - 3 snack foods you're grateful for

I have no self-control with snacks so I very rarely buy any.

For cravings I will buy a small bag by the grocery checkout so it's only 1 serving and I alternate among Fritos, Cheetos, and Utz Ripple chips (not Ruffles).

Good morning :)

Popcorn memories of kids at church camp and two friends (one now an angel of God named Dean) making it fresh for them in an old-fashioned popcorn cart. Champ sure loved his popcorn and as a kind so did I! Lots of popcorn memories.

Dad enjoys more snacks than I do mostly salty from trail mix to macadamia nuts, to chips and dip. For me my Sprouts Applesauce can be a snack.

1. Cheese and crackers
2. Dip and whatever. I adore clam dip but nobody else will eat it so I rarely make it. Also love onion dip, green goddess, 7-layer, queso... the list is long. Chips, crackers, taco chips, Fritos- I eat them all but really would prefer the dip on a spoon more than anything else!
3. Any of the sweet-n-salty snacks, like chocolate covered pretzels, white trash crack (this is what my sister calls it, it's like not-spicy chex mix with white and milk chocolate drizzled over it), etc.
