VWL Groupies & Lovers Thread (Special Collectors Edition 2.0) updated 21 June 2023

2 weeks to the day after my Dads youngest sister passed away, now his oldest sister has passed yesterday. My Dad is the last of his siblings. Between his stroke, yellow jacket stings that put him in the hospital back in June, and now losing 2 sisters in 2 weeks, please pray for him. I'm concerned depression may set in

Sending prayers and encouragement Jimmy -

Starting to get excited again — 3 weeks till we head back “home.”

I’m taking my BFF and her two kids. Her husband isn’t interested in Disney (or travel/family vacations at anll; don’t get me started on this topic, lol!) and pretty much said “no,” even though the kids (ages 10,6) really wanted to go to Disney. But my BFF was like, fine, I’m taking the kids anyway! So DH and I booked a 2BR lockoff so they’d have their own private space but also we’d have the shared living room/kitchen and we can help them out while we’re there. I just love visiting with kids because their joy is always so infectious.

We do the Disney Cruise at the end of the week (my BFF and her kids move to the AKV Kidani for some relaxing times after) and then we meet back up with them after we get off the ship.

Oh I am so sorry. That is just awful. Your poor dad has had such a trying year. Sending prayers to him and to you.

Sounds like a long, fun trip!

I am so sorry. Your poor dad! Please tell him that people who don’t even know him are thinking of him and praying for him.

After all these years, you would think I would remember, but alas, my excitement overrides my ability to think straight when it comes to planning for a trip to WDW.

We have a trip planned early Apr, staying at FW 1st time, renting a camper. Apr 3 is our check in date, but as always, we like to add days on. So last minute, Wed eve we found that a special rate was available for our dates using Disney Visa so we add on CS one night, since we are going to brave driving all day. We purchase AP's recently and need to activate them, so why not try to get an extra day in at MK, catch boat to and from FW, grab a bite, hang out until our camper is set up. In other words, just to be in WDW, Ahhhh :goodvibes

So we get up Fri crack of dawn, 5:45 am to book ALL our dining only to find out(we knew this)we could only book for our Coronado stay, and the next day. How come every time I do this? As mentioned I think the excitement overtakes the logic. So we had to do it all over again this morning:teeth:

(Mainly, I shared this because we were half way down the 2nd page, and we cant allow this to happen):rotfl2:

Hi Groupies,

Long time, no Disboarding... so please forgive me if this question was answered previously. After sadly missing a few years of trips, we have been back to VWL the past two Januaries (yay!). Unfortunately, on neither trip did I see the big geyser spout.

Is the big geyser on a reduced schedule, leave of absence, down for maintenance in January, a relic of the past, etc.?

I have to say a thank you Jimmy for your tale of (some) woe in booking Disney dining. I had forgotten that it was time to book dining for April and had a couple of places I definitely wanted. Got them!

Hello fellow groupies. Got those Disney blues today. Got home late last night. Had a nice dinner at Whispering Canyon during our trip. The food was good as usual and our server was awesome. It was just nice to be in the Lodge for a little bit and had to sit by the fire of course. Our first 4 nights were at the Poly and boy were we wowed. I think it's the only other resort that IMO can come close to the ambiance and beauty of the Lodge.
