Ok here’s mine

davidhr---$85-$12918-130-SSR-Aug-0/22, 0/23, 260/24, 130/25- sent 2/20

Asked the seller to bank 2023 points before sending for ROFR.

Wasn’t planning on adding points but these prices are too good and a great opportunity for some SAP. All my other contracts are 75 points and I prefer smaller contracts, but was ok with this one. Bid on some 150-160 points contracts, but was glad to get this one on the lower side.

It was listed at $102, but the seller was motivated and after some counteroffers we agreed on the price.

Lil Micky---$59.24-$60320-1000-AUL-Feb-0/23, 32/24, 0/25-seller pays MF '24- sent 2/20

This contract has had two owners in less than 3 years of existence and has been a financial disaster for both. Originally had $134K financed w/ Disney in direct purchase Fall '21, then $60K financed w/ Monera in resale early '23, 2nd owners defaulted on dues and now forced to sell.

Maybe this time will be different. 😬😅

Over in the "Buying Aulani" thread we were wondering who might take this contract on. Is the seller also giving a credit for 2025 dues?

I thought about asking for the seller to pay it but it only changes the total cost of the contract $225 lol. At 7K that's a drop in the bucket. But I see your point, on smaller contracts it technically is an increase on price per point...but on these small ones $10 difference in price per point up or down really makes no impact to the overall contract price, especially 25 point contracts.

The most amazing deal I have ever seen for Poly, people paying more per point for resorts expiring in 18 years.
Yep, i lost a 25pt by asking about them paying fees, or splitting fees, when I should have just bought it. Lesson learned.

At $10k per year in dues I can see why. lol

@Lil Micky How do you spend 1000 per year??
Multiple trips, multiple units, or just live there for a month. lol

I was just telling my husband about this 1000 pt contract and he basically asked the same question. I don't think we could spend 1000 points a year but I saw that thread with all the Dis member who own 1000 or more so I guess a lot of people do it.

I said this elsewhere but I am not sure that Fidelity's $225 fee really puts their closing costs above others, like the board sponsor. My contract through Fidelity and my contract through the board sponsor had the same closing costs even after the Fidelity fee.

We're based on the west coast and our family is half Aussie/half American. Hawaii works as a group vacation spot with friends/family on either side of the Pacific. The inaugural trip using these points will cover rooms for 4 grandparents, 4 in-laws, 6 cousins and our family of 5.

Oh that is the perfect situation then!!
You should be making amazing family memories for years to come. Is the inaugural trip using more or less of the 1000? (or really close to 1000?)

Haven't locked in a room configuration but it's pricing out to around ~1400 points for a week with all of us.

$134,000 financed with Disney then $60,000 financed with Monera..... yikes. I wonder if Disney will ROFR lol. Probalby not!
We are financing a total of $0, which should significantly improve the financial side of owning this albatross.

Ah. I always forget people travel with extended family. That makes sense! We're just 3 people who go on vacation once...maybe twice a year.
