With another lovely 65 degree day here today in "the Springs" I'm looking forward to Independence Pass opening in 6 weeks or so:

This was the snow depth on 5/31/16 along Rt. 82 about a week after it opened last year.

Ok, ROL veterans! Beautiful pictures both of you.....

What advice do you have for taking pictures at ROL? We will seeing it next month.

What lenses and settings for my Canon T6s?

TIA.

Thanks! Python Fan obviously has a better lens than I do and had better seats. I don't remember doing anything special. I have a Canon T3 and used the P setting it gave me an ISO of 2500 and a shutter speed of 1/15 and an F stop of 6.3.

I had a Nikon D750 and a Nikon 24 - 70 f/2.8 VR lens.
I think the show is worth a Fastpass if it's your first time. I would try to get a seat on the 3rd or 4th row from the front.
I shot Manual Mode with AutoISO to a max of 3200, f/3.5 at 1/60s. Most of my shots came back at ISO 1600.

Thank you! This very helpful!

Thanks goopysolelady! When is your daughter coming out here to visit next?

I'm guessing the next visit will be sometime during the summer. ::yes:: She owns a dog grooming shop and is SWAMPED with work now; bless her heart, she's been working until 7-7:30 most evenings! :faint: Early summer months are slower times so I look for the "we're going to Colorado" message then. :goodvibes :tink:

After the entire day at DGD's dance competition we were awarded with a pretty nice Houston, Texas sundown yesterday as we headed back to the country...:goodvibes:
