**2010** Epcot Food & Wine Festival ENDED 11/14. 2011 FESTIVAL 9/30-11/13

actually some of the booths have the passports. Can't tell which ones.

I asked at several booths and none had them (maybe I asked at the wrong booths). The closest place I found them to the IG was at the intersection of WS and FW, where the two booths selling Festival Merchandise are. Last week, at least, both booths had them available by the cash registers.

I know people who got them at the 15 Beers booth, and at the Festival store in WS. As for other booths I don't know. There was also some rumbles that you could get them at the DVC kiosks because they are provided by DVC.

Question: Is it possible to purchase wine, say at the Festival center, and have it mailed directly home? Alternatively, is there a place on property where you can mail stuff that might sell packaging for delicate items? I have a couple bottles I have to get and I'd really prefer not to have to find a way to get them into our checked baggage.

Continuing my saga - The best red wine for my tasting this year was the MacMurray Ranch Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir - at the Charcuterie and Cheese booth.

I had seen a show on the MacMurray vineyards so perhaps I was anxious to taste this one. I liked it very much.

Very interesting that you pointed this out about the chicken soup with rice. As I mentioned maybe mama was cooking it. Turns out we were right. They held a contest this year for Disney Cast Members and the winning dish would be featured. The one that one was the Puerto Rican Asopao de Pollo (chicken soup with rice).

Now I HAVE to try it!

Gee - thanks for the update and research....

You cannot mail wine home from the Festival Center - in fact the nice folks checking you out may inquire as they know this is not allowed. They asked us this time to make sure. Your best bet is to take a photo of the bottle and check with your local wine merchant when you get home. There are a few bottles exclusive to Disney - if those happen to be your favourite, then it is checked luggage time. As for mailing other delicate items, at times this service is provided by vendors - but it does not apply to wines.

Good Luck.

Crud. I was afraid of that. It's what we had to do last time. We (and a number of good friends) love the Fairy Tale Cuvee, and as far as I'm aware, you can't get it anywhere else. Oh well, I'll just have to look into protective packing! Thanks for the quick response!

That is one of the wines we purchased. We have tried other sparkling wines from the same vineyard.

Does anyone know the exact prices for each of the 4 Champagnes served at the Dessert & Champagne booth? I need to know the prices of each for my rating cards. The only prices I could find were the original prices that were posted on the first day. Going back through this thread al I could find was that they ranged from $10-$11.75 but not what each one cost.

Best I can do from memory is:

Imperial (aka White Star was $10.00)
and the Imperial Rose was $12.00.

Hi all -

We're doing Party for the Senses - Wine View Lounge on the 23rd. :woohoo:

I received a call today from someone with the Food and Wine festival team with information. She said we could check in for our preferred seating at Eat to the Beat at 4pm and then we'd be escorted to PFTS-WVL after the concert. She also said though if we didn't go to the concert to check in around 5:15pm and we would be let in at 5:45pm. Is this right?

I just checked the concert schedule - Night Ranger starts at 5:15 pm. If we go to that, will we miss the 5:45 pm entrance to PFTS-WVL? How does this actually work? I know I could call back and ask but honestly I don't always trust their phone people to give me correct information.

Thanks in advance!!

Yes, I got the same phone call today. I said we weren't going to the concert so I was told we could check in at the entrance to PFTS at 5 pm and the doors would open for the people in the Wine View Lounge at 5:45 pm.

If you go to the 5:15 pm concert then you will most likely miss the 5:45 pm start to PFTS. It is REALLY crowded by then with people waiting to get in.

Sorry - but I don't have the time to read 148 pages of posts. Hoping someone who knows (or read the 148 pages) can answer a quick question: Can we use snack credits for the Food & Wine booths this year?

Yes, for all food and non-alcoholic beverage items.

As long as it's under $5.00

Not so - Snack credits are good for all WS kiosk food and non-alcoholic beverages, regardless of the price of the item. This includes the $7.25 lobster roll at the Hops & Barley booth, the single most expensive food item.

As photographic proof may be necessary, this page

http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/hops-and-barley-2010-epcot-food-and-wine-festival/

has a photo of the Hops & Barley booth menu which clearly shows the DDP logo on the lobster roll.

The only exclusions appear to be alcoholic beverages.

Lines are ridiculously long today. The only booth with less than a ten minute wait was Brazil. The longest, to my suprise, was Korea, which stretched down the hill past the China tea kiosk.

The Belgian mussels were disappointing. Lukewarm, and the "garlic cream" tasted like a thin roux with too much flour and too little garlic. The toast was rubbery from sitting too long.

I am a little confused by the reports of a 5:45pm entry time for wine view lounge at PFTS? Doesn't PFTS start at 6:30pm? 5:45 seems really early then to let anyone in even wine view lounge. Or does it start at 6pm this year?

Does anyone know what time the Festival Center opens each day? Is it early, like park opening time or not until later like WS?

Thanks in advance!

The Festival Welcome Centre will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily during the Festival Period.
