This will be our first time staying off site and renting a car. Right now we have a good deal with Hertz for a compact. I asked what type of car it would be and the lady told me something like a Ford Escort. My question is will this be big enough to hold our luggage (probably 2 suitcases between DH, DD(2 1/2) and me) and a stroller? Should we try to upgrade to a mid-size? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if you know this already but Hertz is not onsite at Orlando Airport (MCO), you will need to take their shuttle. Onsite car rentals are Dollar, National, Budget, Alamo and L&M. Dollar has some great prices right now even without using a code. Did you compare prices with any of the onsite car rental agencies? We use Avis often at MCO, there are some good discounts available using codes at Avis too. As far as whether a Ford Escort will be comfortable for the 3 of you, I'm not sure. It is a pretty small car.

Thank you so much!! I did know that Hertz was off-site and did a little more research and found an Intermediate size car with Dollar that was less $$ than a compact with Hertz.

Excellent Laurie!! So glad you did a little research and found a better price. The onsite car rental agencies are very convenient, especially when you are traveling with little ones. We have rented from Dollar many times on our travels through MCO and have been very happy each time. Once they even upgraded us for free from the Concorde to the LHS. Have a Great time!
