Keeping in mind the difference between a handgun and an assault rifle, the handgun bullet can go into a body, exit, and sometimes not necessity do tremendous bodily damage. Sometimes, a casualty lives. With the assault rifles smaller, lighter, extremely high velocity rounds, they can turn body insides into messed up jello. Getting hit by a round, unless in the arm, leg, toe, will most often kill the casualty, devastatingly so. Even hit in an appendage could be lethal from tearing apart an artery. Assault weapons are meant to kill a lot of people, very quickly, very effectively with little room for casualty survival. They are not meant for deer hunting or protecting yourself from a mugger.
