Anybody have July 4th experience?

Hi. Was the parks really crowded on that day or around the 4th of July? Did either park have anything special for that day, or is there something else special going on in the Orlando area? Thanks for any help.

We were there this past summer from June 30 to July 5. The parks were pretty crowded, but we were staying at the HRH and had express access, so it didn't matter. We never had to wait more than five or ten minutes for anything. The fireworks on July 4th were spectacular. They were set off from US, IOA and CityWalk simultaneously. Wherever you looked you saw fantastic fireworks. Don't know if they'll do the same thing again this year, but the fireworks alone made it all worthwhile. Citywalk was absolutely PACKED because they fireworks could be seen for free from there. We went to IOA and watched them from Jurassic Park.
