Room condition......... you know what just read what Crisi wrote. He/she summed it up bettere than I can. I agree with that post.
Studios.......... see Rinkwide's post.
I'm sure I'll be flamed for this but I don't get the people who buy into DVC to stay in studios????????? If all I wanted was a studio I'd stay in a moderate, request a fridge and enjoy the superior dining I feel they offer. I'd suck down the free dining when offered and any other deal out there. I wouldn't have to worry about AD or speed dialing at 11 months.
I'd take POR FQ as my choice followed by CSR. I'd invest the buy in money for DVC and live happily ever after.
Vacation ownership begins with a one bedroom and ends with the Beach Cottage at VB IMO.
Good luck disguy1.
the family consists of my daughter and I..so, a studio is plenty. in my case, I dont think DVC is worth it. for big familes, I guess it would be
i believe vacationing is simple enough without putting thousands out there to pre-pay vacations.

I stayed at POR at the tail end of a huge family DVC vacation. I was looking forward to it. I love POR. I think it's Disney's best kept secret...more than the DVC is. I was excited. And then something funny happened... I hate it but I guess I became spoiled very quickly without me knowing.
I missed the extra space. I missed the option of sitting on a couch and relaxing. I missed using the microwave. And the kitchenette in general. I missed the look of the vanity/washroom area. I missed it feeling "homey". And I totally missed my balcony. Really missed the balcony. I thought, before this trip and from the wonderful memories of Value/Mod stays, that they were similar. They're not. I like to hang out. And nothing is better than the DVC is hang out.
I might never return to a DVC studio b/c my partner is hooked on the one bedroom...absolutely refuses to look back at a studio. And I know you are well on your way to the best decision for you. However, I just wanted to add that DVC studios vs. some CRO rooms is not an equal comparison.
