Bitbelts for Magic Bands - are they necessary?

I have seen Bitbelts that you can buy to put on your magicband to stop them coming undone. Has anybody experienced any problems with Magicbands coming undone or losing them.

:confused3

We didn't have one problem with our bands staying on. Although at first they don't seem very secure and I kept on checking mine was still on, we had no problems at all. My only problem with them was the little accessories that you could push in the spare holes, I lost 3 of them!!:)

No issues with our bands except when DD had a cover on it then in came off in the Dumbo play area. The covers block the holes so they are not as secure.

No other issues though:thumbsup2

On our 10 day trip DHs fell off once, we were walking from CR to MK but I couldn't say for sure if he'd done it up properly!

My 2 friends and I had no problems.

thanks everybody and thanks for the tips about the accessories. We were gonna buy the accessories but may remove them at water parks. Maybe we can pick up the Bitbelts when we arrive - or make sure they are on securely :thumbsup2

we wore the MBs for 25 full days last october/november, then we wore them at the airport, and on the flights, and as we landed back in France the Disney Blues kicked in and we couldn't make ourselves take them off.

We must have kept them on for 2 months straight, only taking them off for shower
They never fell off once

now, in my opinion $5.99 for a piece of plastic is ridiculous

I would rather take a small rubber band, costs $0 and is potentially more efficient and discreet.

Was idly looking up magic band accessories on ebay today and found that there's a secondary market for the bands themselves for use in Disney Infinity :O was a little shocked to see something that is given away free being sold for £15+

Then you wouldn't have seen the First Visit and Birthday buttons you pick up free being sold on eBay either lol. The only reason people sell them is because other people buy them. It's the buyers I don't always understand.

The mini ones the teen and tween girls buy for tiny hair braids may work well.

Same experience here (little accessories as well).
However I never removed it until the end of the vacation. Maybe if you remove and put it on again multiple times, maybe it might loosen up after a while, I don't know.

as i said, we wore them non-stop and they never fell off..

even in the water parks

here's a picture of DD and DSIL in Typhoon Lagoon.
They're both wearing the bands, but you can only see DSIL's - the green band on his wrist

and just for fun....the picture right before it:

didn't matter what we did, they never fell off...
they were very secure and very comfortable...something that surprised me.
i thought they would be hot and sweaty, but they weren't at all..
really comfortable and convenient..

I can answer regarding this.

I'm quite short, so short man equals short arms :p
doesn't pose any problem until you have to open the gate at your resort ... even pulling as close as possible to the post, I couldn't twist my wrist to put mickey to mickey, so I had to take the band off every time I had to open that gate (at least 2 times a day for 25 days)
I also took it off for shower, as sweat tends to build up under that band

so as you can imagine, I took it off a fair number of times, and so far I have not noticed any difference in the way it locks. Still firm and tight.

We just got back and have annual passes on the bands (we didnt stay on site) we went to the park pretty much everyday and some days twice as well as disney quest, so we were obviously taking ours off constantly, we would take them off and I would just put them around the strap on my bag. There wasn't any problems and we'll be wearing them on the next trip too.

Yup, no problems here either. I hook my band around my park bag as I don't want a tan stripe! So I usually unclip every time I enter park, use FP+ or make a purchase. I also wear it during the evening so it's opening and closing a lot.

Thanks for this thread! I have debated buying them and now feel I should have my head checked for even considering it.

I feel certain we can come up with a solution to avoid losing the bands cheaper than $20 for 5 tiny pieces of plastic.
