Bounceback Information and FAQ Thread - 25-35% off BOUNCEBACKS ARE BACK for 2024/2025!

I got a nice bounceback discount of about 35% off of rack rate for early September. But I need to change the dates to mid November, the dates are not blacked out, but the CM is quoting me almost rack rate for the change. Same room, same resort, just different dates. They discount isn't even 5%.

Should I call back and get someone else to quote the change? I kept asking the CM, did you apply the bounce back offer to the new reservation and she assured me she did.

So sad, there was only a very small discount, maybe 2-3% by changing my dates.
Unfortunately, I don’t think that most of November was included in the bounceback rate. Depending what your dates are, there might not be any discounts to apply yet. The bouceback flyer that I have says that only 11/25-11/27 are included in the bouceback promotion. Most of December is included if you can move your trip out a little later.

This is a room only discount. That means each night is individually discounted if it's an included date, or at rack rate if it's not included.

This is different than package discounts (e.g., free dining, stay/play/dine) where the discounted components are based on the package start date.
Interestingly when I called multiple times from the phone number and my room on my trip this past weekend, they kept insisting that I had to have one of the bounceback days as the start of my trip. I know that wasn’t the case because I had a bounceback trip in February that only had 4 days in the middle as a part of the trip. The first 3 CSR I talked to all said this was the case. I called again today hoping to get a different answer and that person said that didn’t make sense and also there were no bounceback rooms available for my currently booked January trip at Bay Lake Tower :(

It was probably that there was no availability for the bounceback for your dates, so the first CMs simply assumed it was because it had to start on an included date. I am glad you called back. Did you have the CM look at different resorts or only 1?

He checked the monorail resorts for me since we had a 2 bedroom BLT theme Parkview room there wasn't a ton comparable.

@vinotinto and the various people lurking here, I can confirm that the old bounceback phone number no longer works, you need to call the regular number if phoning from outside a resort room or once you’re back home.

I'll be at ASMovies next month for 2 nights. I'm looking to book a BB offer for December 7-15. Can anyone tell me the discounted rate for that time at ASMovies or ASMusic? I'm weighting this time against a cheaper time in November. TIA!

Best to just call when you get there because no one knows if there is availability for your dates. If you’re talking December 2024 at a value, the *potential* BB discount would be 25%.

I just tried to book a Resort-Only through the bounce back offer and the person I spoke to kept repeating about the $200 deposit and the 30-day cancellation. I told her several times that whatever she was booking sounded like a package, but she kept telling me that this was a resort-only reservation. This was my first-time booking Bounce Back so I wasn't sure what the policy was. Anyway, I didn't go through with the booking.

What do you all think?

Call back and speak with another CM.

YES! They must make a commission or a bonus with the way they push the packages, including room only packages.
It was a very annoying experience for me. I almost lost it after hearing for the 3rd or 4th time that my "resort-only" reservation required a $200 deposit and a 30-day cancellation. She was so pushy with the Dining plans and Memory Maker, too. Yeesh!

That's another reason why I believe the CMs make a commission or bonus on packages (based on the total price of them). If you've done both room only and package reservations in the past, you'll notice that the confirmation email for a package comes from Walt Disney Travel Company which I assume works like a travel agency. The ones for a room only reservation are addressed just like any other email confirmation from the Disney site, such as dining reservations, etc.

I will call Disney again today. In order to avoid the same situation, should I book a reservation online, then call to have the Bounce Back applied? At least I will have a rereservation number showing it's Room-Only.

Or will they cancel my reservation and rebook? Has anyone done this? I'm not looking forward to have the same conversation again. 😮‍💨

I made a regular room-only resv for Dec 2024 before our April 2024 trip. While at Disney in April, I called, and was able to simply transfer the existing booking for Dec to a BB, with no issues. Later this Spring, once they released dates for new BB offers, I was able to transfer that same booking to April 2025, however I had to switch to a different resort as there wasn't availablity for the existing resort. All these remained under the same reservation number, and since I had already paid the initial deposit, there wasn't any additional $$ due.
