Buena Vista Suites/ Orlando feedback?

Hi!
My brother's family & our's are planning on a night stay at the Buena Vista Suites prior to a cruise. We're wondering if anyone has stayed there before.

We should be arriving on a friday by noon and wondered what might be close by that's fun to do. We can't justify purchasing Disney park passes for about a half a day of time (we have 6/8/&10 year olds)

Any suggestions?

Lucky you to be going a cruise. Have a great time.

The buena vista suites generally gets good reviews on this board and is one of the closest hotels to the parks and downtown disney.

Will you have a car?

You can drive to downtown disney is a few minutes. Park and enjoy the shopping, food and the view of the lake for a few hours.

Also driving down to see the town that disney built (celebration) is fun. The town is very small but charming.
