I'm here too...and will try to do better keeping up with it!
Wow! N's art is phenomenal!
N is a wonderful artist, love his unique spray paint art.
Following and drooling over the artwork!
Nate is so talented!
Gorgeous photo!
So excited As I leave for my solo weekend tomorrow night. Woohoo! It’s a super short trip but hopefully packed with lots of magic can’t wait to see your version!
Obviously I like this one the best.
if N is looking for a craft show in September, our town hosts one of the top 10 handmade craft shies in the USA!
the website is
hillsboroartsandcraftsfair.org
I KNOW there is no art like his! I help with rhe applications
I'm hitchiking on my hubby's convention and spending some solo time in Disney next month!
WIll check out N's artwork, and let me know if you folks ever travel thru Nashville!
He should have painted you both into that one, gazing lovingly into each other's eyes.
I'm sure Ruby would love something like that to hang up in your home.
love your new hair color !
Curious to hear how you liked doing Disney on your own.
N's artwork is great, he's so talented!
Loving Nathan's artwork. Can't wait to hear about your adventures
Checking in to say hi and that I love the silvery purple!!! Can't wait to hear all the details of your trip!
PS Nathan is so incredibly talented! I love seeing the art you posted above and also follow his page to see more.
What a fabulously fun way to spend the summer!
After driving 2.5 days down from a show in New Brunswick
Haynnk saw his first palm trees.
I wanted to make sure to do some stereotypical touristy things, and so it was important to me to get something made from peaches while within the borders of Georgia.
...Okay. So it was a little smaller than we were expecting. More like Peachland. Or really...more like Peach Stand.
(If you ever stop, or if you buy their product online, make sure to get the no-sugar-added jam, rather than the regular sugar-filled one. Trust me. AMAZING.)
There was a fairly deep gash in one of his front tires!
There was a center that took walk-ins (drive-ins?)
They checked the tire and found that it was too deep to patch,
I found a cute little giraffe-print dress for my niece at Old Navy.
she called them up and had a room booked on her points for us...which she refused to let me pay for.
(i.e. He scarily chased me across the grass.)
but I have a Landry's card
He also ordered the cream cheese fried wontons with vanilla sauce for dessert. This is one of his favourite desserts at Disney, and it didn't disappoint.
The chef asked if I liked seafood and recommended the Malaysian Seafood Curry. I wasn't too sure because my tummy doesn't handle curry very well, but he assured me that it wasn't spicy and that the coconut milk and rice tempered the curry. I decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did! I thought it was delicious!
By the time I got back 30-40 minutes later, I was melting and not feeling so great.
N wanted to try something new on the menu, and so he got the battered burger and chips.
It was then that the woman on the cash informed me that they have a punch card they can give you for every time you buy a donut or cupcake! How was this a thing that nobody had ever mentioned to me before!??
I liked one of the t-shirts, but not enough to pay something ridiculous like $37 for it.
t was at Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge!
There was a bit of a problem with our entrees where they accidentally served N the same allergy-friendly version of the entree that I got, when he'd really wanted to original, but they handled it with fantastic customer service, sent him out a new side dish, and had a manager check in to make sure we were satisfied, etc.
Other than witnessing the stuffy folks at the table next to us taking themselves far too seriously and giving both the server and the manager a hard time for how inappropriately paired the side dish offerings were for the entrees—*long sigh*
(Though I may have caught them giving me serious side-eye glances later when I left with a to-go box. Uggh.)
Appetizers: N's dreamy mushroom soup, and my muscles, modified for allergies with a garlic/lemon broth.
Honestly, I don't even really like muscles, but these were super delicious.
We also both ordered the brussels sprouts.
Turns out, he didn't even like them, so he had two orders of sprouts and didn't really care to eat any of them at all.
N painted a few for folks on this day who would end up coming back again and again during the weekend to have more done or to bring their friends.
I took a picture of him with my room key for scale.
Basically, the more he paints, the more he paints.
But if he's painting, they get hooked and decide to stay and watch.
I also remember snapping this picture from that morning...someone had spilled something, so one of the guys working at the show was standing over the spill until a crew could come to clean it up...but it just looked like he'd had an accident...
rather than depositing American money into our Canadian bank accounts, having the bank take a conversion fee, they paying off the reservation with our credit cards, and paying off the credit card with our newly-converted Canadian money, where the bank has taken a conversion fee YET AGAIN to turn the USD purchase on the card into CAD, etc.
His art is so cool! You've kept me entertained on your previous reports, so I'm checking in for this one, too.
Following along. I'm going on a solo trip in August and am super excited for it. So I especially love reading about solo adventures.
I wish I lived as lived as close as you guys. I'd be down there all the time!
What did he think?
Really! Huh!
Not surprised. Not sure how you could patch that.
Not an expert, though.
I didn't know you had a niece at Old Navy.
I would pay money to see this video!
What is that?
No offense, but that just doesn't appeal. Not a cream cheese fan unless it's in a cheese cake. I'll try it, but I probably wouldn't order it?
Holy crap! Had no idea he used that much paint!
I'll take that as a sign that he's selling well.
I am never going to fault a restaurant for making a mistake. It's how they deal with the mistake that I will judge them on.
Those are your muscles? You have hairy arms, Meghan.
Okay, I know it's a typo and being an East coast girl, you know how to spell mussels, but this really made me laugh. You don't like muscles? Poor N! But his are delicious? Hey! Family board here!
I am soooo tempted... but I'm at work, so I can't. I have this urge to photoshop you holding that room key... except it's bigger than you are...
Yeah.... that's why I got rid of my USD account. No fun being charged to convert money to put into it, then being charged to withdraw it. Nope.
Great start! Love the hair and also love where it is now!!
Wow that is a big gash in the tire. Good thing Nathan saw it and it got fixed quickly! I would have no clue as I don't regularly visually check my tires.
Love how you are able to pop into AK just for dinner, I love having the AP!
Your meals looked delicious, especially Artist Point. I have heard a lot about the soup, so I'm gonna have to try it one day, as well as those Tuna Nachos at Yak and Yeti.
Great that you guys were busy all weekend, that is always a good sign and totally well deserved for his amazing art!
Looking forward to your solo time!
