DDP really worth it?

Our most expensive TS meal was at the Grand Floridian Cafe where the bill was $185 (including tax & tip that we didn't pay), and that was only using one TS credit each. Our least expensive meal was our breakfast at Chef Mickey's. All other meals were over $120is to $150ish to the $185.00. We didn't eat anywhere where we needed two TS credits. Also, we too "sampled" things so that we weren't stuffed to the gills. I was one pound lighter when we came back than when we left. I think all of the walking took care of the excess calories. The kids also loved being able to order their own appetizers at our TS meals since they never got to do this at home. On some nights we also had specialty non-alcoholic smoothies or shakes with our meals where we normally would have just had sodas. One place was very generous with the kids and said they didn't have to order from the kids menu! It was awesome!

Disneyland does not have a dining plan like this. We spend a lot more money there eating greasy CS meals every day.

We were actually pricing DL vacations when dh said "why don't you just check WDW to see what kind of deals are out there?" Free DDP is what tipped the scales for us--a comparable DL vacation would have cost double what we're paying for WDW, and we wouldn't have had nearly the quality or variety (not to mention quantity) of food. Come on DL, get with the program!
