DDP vs DDE?

:confused3 Don't know if this is the right place to post this question but what's the difference between the Disney Dining Plan and The Disney Dining Experience? I have used the DDE and it was great. $60.00 for one member of your party and you get 20% off food AND alcohol! So what is the DDP?

DDP is pretty much a PRE PAID meal plan.

$38 per adult/per day, gets 1 table service/1 counter service/1 snack and it covers tax and tips for those meals.

DDE is good primarily at TS (a few CS). It also has dates (holidays) when it isn't accepted. The savings is based on where and how much you eat.

DDP is one TS credit, one CS credit, and one snack credit per person per night of your stay for the money.

If you have both, you can use the DDE at any participating restaurant for any items that aren't covered on the DDP (like alcoholic beverages, smoothies, etc.) Yes, I know that in some places smoothies and milkshakes are on the DDP, but not at most.
