Here are some dining reviews. To give you some background - DH is a big steak lover, and I only eat vegetarian + seafood. I have some photos that I'll post soon! Please let me know if you have any questions!!

Thursday, 9/23 (arrival day)
HURRICANE HANNAH’S – we had poolside drinks. The CM Jayson let us taste a few as they had so many fun concoctions to choose from! I ended up getting a margartia on the rocks and DH had a hurricane Hannah

BLUE ZOO – we were supposed to go to Shula’s, but since we have one here in NYC, we decided to try something else and switched to Blue Zoo the day before without a problem. First we went to the bar for cocktails. I had a zooberry which was good, but was definitely a new kind of taste. It did taste like blueberry, but was also quite tart. DH had the maytag martini with gin and enjoyed it. Then we were seated for dinner (the restaurant was empty!! I think we only saw 4 other parties while we were there). Service and food were both great. I had the chilled poached jumbo shrimp appetizer and DH had the clam chowder. We split the lobster entrée which was very tasty. It had a Chinese food like taste to it. They brought us a surprise anniversary dessert, which was an assortment of different strawberry dessert tastings. I had champagne with dinner which was great as well. The lounge seems like it would be a very fun place to hang out when more people are around!

Friday, 9/24
We did breakfast in the concierge lounge.

RESTAURANT MARAKESH – one of our favs. We’ll eat here everytime we visit!! Service was wonderful, as always, as was the food. We ordered the same exact things that we had last time – the vegetarian couscous for me, and the lunch pre fix for DH (includes Beef Bastilla, Chicken Kebabs, and crepes atals. They also gave us bastilla for two which is sooooo tastey! This restaurant is such a nice break in the middle of the day in the park, as it is cool quiet, and relaxing!

Snacks – We enjoyed some treats around the world showcase, including champagne and casablana beer in Morocco, margaritas in Mexico, beer in Germany, and a sushi sampler in Japan. The sushi was just okay. We feel that we do better with sushi here in NY.

Before dinner – We stopped at the BELLEVUE LOUNGE for a before dinner drink. DH had a scotch flight and I had a cocktail with Bailey’s, Godiva, and Chambord. We enjoyed both and especially liked the atmosphere there.

LE CELLIER – this was our first Le Cellier experience. It was so crowded! The staff was all wonderful there. Of course the pretzel bread was great. DH LOVED his meal the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon. Particularly the wild mushroom risotto!! I had the Sterling Salmon which was good, along with the vegetables in came with. One drawback for me was that it was served with the skin on, and I am personally not a fan of that. L A great meal, and they got us out in time for Illuminations! They seem to be prepared to get everyone out for 9:00!!

Saturday, 9/25
Concierge breakfast again

ABC Commissary – we just wanted some quick food and were in the middle of a rain shower so we ran to the closest place. We shared the fish and chips. It did taste good when we ate it, but it did not settle well with me. They were out of soda/pop, so the gave us two bottles of water instead for the same price (which was a great deal!!).

So this is when we found out that Jeanne was coming. We were supposed to dine at WP Dining Room that evening and see La Nouba, and realized that was not going to be happening! We made it back to the YC and went to the concierge lounge for “dinner”. Seemed like everyone else had the same idea!! It was packed! They were well stocked on food for us. Well stocked in alcohol too which helped the evening pass!

Later that night DH ordered room service and got a pizza, as that was all they were offering.

Sunday, 9/26
All day Sunday, the YC Galley was all that was open for a limited buffet at $19 per adult. We were not so interested in this. We ate the leftovers of our cold pizza all day, along with some other food we had brought down from the lounge the night before. We went back to the lounge for dinner, and ended up not spending a cent Sunday for food or drinks!!!

Monday, 9/27
Since we missed our WP Dining Room experience due to Jeanne, we headed to the WOLFGANG PUCK CAFE for lunch. We enjoyed some martinis and I had the sushi sampler and DH had the cobb salad with grilled shrimp. Both were excellent. The sushi is much better here than in Japan at Epcot. The salad was fantastic – particularly with the shrimp. They’re pricey – like $10 for four prawns, but oh so tastey! We told our server how we were disappointed in not being able to make it to the Upstairs Dining Room, and he let us view the menu and also go upstairs to take a look. It is very romantic and it is on our list for our next trip!

After massage at the GF Spa, we headed to the Poly for cocktails at O’HANA’s lounge. DH tried the lapu lapu in the pinapple! Great presentation and he enjoyed it!! I had some kind of margarita like drink with mago juice (??) which was also great.

VICTORIA & ALBERT’S – this was supposed to be Sunday, and fortunately we were able to reschedule after the hurricane. You can read that review here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=654943.

Tuesday, 9/28
MAINE STREET BAKERY – we stopped for a quick bit on our way into the MK. We had a cheese Danish and quiche. Both were decent for breakfast.

CHEFS DE FRANCE – We left MK around lunch as we are not fans of the food service there, and headed back to Epcot to eat. We enjoyed a late lunch in France. I had lobster bisque to start. I am a huge lobster bisque fan, and I would have to say that this is one off the best I’ve had! It is soooo rich and creamy! I also had the cheese plate which was very good. It included swiss, blue, brie, and another which I forget the name, but it tasted like a strong munster type cheese. I would have preferred a gruyere, however DH enjoyed it. DH had the French lunch (French onion, ham and cheese, crème brulee), all of which were great! Great service too, and I love listening to French accents!

YACHTSMAN STEAKHOUSE – This is a very special place for us. We had a great server who made us so happy and comfortable there. We had some cocktails and I had the Chilean sea bass with rock shrimp risotto (good!) and DH enjoyed the Angus NY Strip with a lobster tail. All was great! Our CM surprised us with a little dessert tray of cookies. We were so full, but she was so thoughtful!! We also had a table right along SAB, and were able to enjoy fireworks from Illuminations during our meal! So romantic!!

Wednesday, 9/29
LE CELLIER – We decided to head back since we enjoyed our dinner there so much. I had the Asian Shrimp Cocktail which was good (and nice and spicey!!), also cool presentation. I also had the mixed field greens salad which was okay – a little too much dressing on it for me. If I were to get it again, I would ask for it on the side. DH had the New York Strip, which was pretty fatty and hard to cut through. The potatoes with it were very good.

Curse you! I have drool all over my keyboard! For I, too, am a huge lobster bisque fan and was glad to hear it was well reviewed only to scroll down and see the photo! YUM!

All kidding aside, thank you for the tip. I'll make it a point next time I'm in Epcot to stop by France and have soup for lunch!

How could you put all those fantastic pictures on my computer? Are you just trying to get one over on us? (LOL) This all looks amazing and would not hesitate to eat anything shown here. The Marakesh looks very cold inside. Did you find this?
Much pixie dust,
Claire

Great reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Fab pix too.

I'm soooo hungry and it is only 8.30 a.m.

Sorry to make everyone so hungry! I am sure that you will all return the favor when you come back with your food reviews!! ;)

Claire - I am ALWAYS cold (I actually carry a sweater around with me at WDW for fear of being cold in lines or in restaurants), and I wasn't cold in Restaurant Marakesh. I think that the dark lighting could be deceiving. I was comfortable in a tank top and was drinking ice water. It is a nice temp. to come inside after a hot day around the parks.

Anim8ed - If you are a lobster bisque fan you must try Chefs de France! If I hadn't ordred the cheese plate too, I might have asked for a second bisque! ;-) It does not have chunks of lobster in it, which is a bit different from others that I've tried, but it is so full of rich flavor and is super creamy. I miss it already . . . .

A big thank you for the reviews and the pics!!! I can see we enjoy many of the same places and cocktails!!!! We discovered BlueZoo in April. It was also uncrowded our 1st night. DS(13) and I enjoyed it so much we returned 3 nights later and it was packed. We had excellent food and service on both nights. In December I must try that yummy cocktail you had!!!!

I'm glad I finished eating lunch before reading this :lol
Great reviews. Yachtsman is also special for us and Frances kept us from Disney and celebrating our 6 month anniversary. Now I have to wait to March.

great pics and reports

thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the pics. Iam going to show them to DH so he can see why I want to try some new places at DW.

I'm dying for that Bisque! Guess I'll be stopping by CdF on my next visit....

Thanx for the great review & pix.

I am LOVING the pics!! i wish i had thought to do that last visit. Next time I will ;)

Thanks so much for your reviews!! Enjoyed them! Sounds like you both ate well!

Great reviews and pictures! Have you ever gone to Shula's in NYC? My Dh went to the one in NJ and his friend told him the one in WDW is better. Just wondering where the one in NYC is? We're bringing our kids on our trip so Shula's is out.

Thank you so much for the reviews and pics!! We're eating in France for the first time this visit. After hearing and seeing you're review, I can't wait! I wish I could go to the Blue Zoo, it looks like a really cool place! :flower:

Great pics and reviews!

I do have a question though. Everyone has always talked about how large the portions are at the Disney restaurants but from those pics I didn't see anything that looked like it would fill me up! I admit I can eat being 6'2" 210 and a guy but it looks like I will be leaving hungry if the portions aren't larger than they look! Maybe it was the resolution of the camera? ;)

2Disneybuggs - We haven't been to NY Shula's yet. It is located in the Westin at W. 42nd @ 8th Ave. We figured to hold off on that at Disney because if we really wanted to go - we could go here and didn't want to "waste" a Disney meal on a place that we can't go regularly. We do however enjoy Del Frisco's in NY. They have a very similar menu as Shula's. We've been to Del Frisco's (on W. 49th & 6th Ave.) many times, and have had wonderful times along with GREAT food! (DH is big on their steak, and I enjoy great seafood there!)

Tsi2quick - my DH is a big guy (6'5" and 215) and eats a LOT. When he is deciding between portions, he ususally asks the server what he will get the most food with! ;) He says that the portions should be just fine for you. He might get an entree along with a salad or soup for dinner. Most of the pictures are from lunch or we had started eating by the time we remember to take a picture! Our dinner entrees were huge, and they are usually served with bread beforehand. Also, our eating habits are to get something a little lighter (hense the soups and salads) for lunch, and then have a big fancy dinner. We both feel totally full all of the time we are in Disney!!

Tinkerbellmom33 - You should definitely try Blue Zoo if you get a chance! If you can't do a meal there, they have a smaller menu for the lounge along with a fun cocktail list. Not only are the food, drinks, and service great, it is worth it just to poke your head in to check out the decor! It is a very cool place!!!

:Pinkbounc I CANT WAIT!!:Pinkbounc

I love dining reviews with photos!! The Asian Shrimp appetizer at LeCellier looks great, I think I will try that this time.

It looks like you two had a great trip, thanks for sharing!

Wishing everyone a "magical" day!
