My family of 3: DH, DD (2), and I spent 5 nights on the DDP. We paid for this OOP and were not on free dining.

I maid ADR's about a month and a half in advance for our TS which included, Whispering Canyon, 1900 Park Fare (Cinderella Dinner), Le Cellier, Boma, and Kona Cafe.

Day 1 - Whispering Canyon Cafe

My husband chose WC for one reason and that was the all you can eat skillet. We really loved the atmosphere here and must of been there on a good night.

I told DH when ordering his drink to ask for a "bucket sized diet coke", and he got it. :thumbsup2 Good thing too because he drank more than half. I ordered the orange shake, but it was out, so I got the strawberry instead. I really thought it was too syrupy and my DD drank off of it.

For appertizers I ordered the fried chicken wings with the sweet chili glaze. I was expecting not to like these, but were very surprised! The glaze is REALLY good and spicy (the way we like it). My DH and I shared a few and boxed up the rest to take back to the hotel. DH had the skillet so his came with the salad. It was OK.

Once the entrees came DH got his skillet he'd been dying for and I had the strip steak ordered medium rare. It came out more like medium to medium well to me but I did not complain. The steak was OK, nothing super special, I'd compare it to a steak I could make at home. The onion straws on top were good. DH liked his skillet, especially the pork.

For dessert I had the dust bowl....truly yummy if you like bananas, and DH had the S'mores cheescake. We were both very full but over all this was a great meal and I am glad we booked it! I would do it again.

Day 2 - 1900 Park Fare

We were super excited for this dinner because DD was to meet Cinderella (who she adores). We made it over to the Grand Floridian and parking it a nightmare! I would suggest valet which we did not do.

Upon arrival Fairy Godmother was in the entrance way. Our wait was minimal with the ADR but this place was PACKED.

Once seated I orded and iced tea and DH a diet coke. It is buffet style so I went up first to get DD meal from the kids area. She had mac and cheese, pasta, pizza, and chicken and mashed potatoes.

The adult area had some really great salads and the prime rib was good. The strawberry soup was really just like chilled strawberry yogurt thinned out.

The dessert area was lacking. I was a bit surprised the buffet was not bigger, however we really enjoyed the food that was available.

The character interaction was so so. Of course the characters make quick stops because of the amount of people, we saw the 2 mice and prince charming and Cinderella. Towards the end of dinner Cinderella was no where do be found and she had not stopped at our section yet. She was missing for about 30 minutes and parents were getting really upset. My DD was going crazy waiting and would not stay in her seat. It really brought the evening down because we were just sitting there waiting and the kids were anxious.

Finally she came, we wrapped up dinner and got out of there as fast as we could. We were there about 2 hours.

The food was good, missing Cinderella not so good.

I have no pictures of food, but here are some of the characters.

Day 3 - Le Cellier

Dh and I were very excited for Le Cellier because of all the great reviews here. This place did not dissapoint and was by far the best meal of the trip.

We started with the mussels and beer cheese soup. The mussels were excellent, the beer cheese soup was OK, but nothing to rave over even when dipped with the pretzal bread.

We both order the mushroom filet. I ordered mine over the mash potatoes instead of the risotto. Every bite was amazing! The filet was cooked perfectly. I cannot say enough about how good this was.

For dessert I orderd the Creme Brulee sampler and DH ordered the whiskey cake. We also ordered a glass of icewine to share. My creme brulee was out of this world good...especially the maple side. I savored every single bite!

Dh and I decided next year we will dine here twice!

Day 4 - Boma

We had a long wait for Boma even with our ADR so we walked around and the resort is really beautiful.

When it finally came down to be seated, I ordered a mango smooth and DH a diet coke. The smoothie was OK.

The buffet is the biggest I had seen yet. The prime rib was good, but there were 2 highlights of the whole buffet that made the whole thing worth it.

The Watermelon Salad and the Black Bean Hummus!!!

I ate a whole bowl of this yummy salad, and now want to make it at home. The black bean hummus was the best tasting spread I have ever tried. Both ere amazing!

For dessert I had some zebra domes, very good, and we both were stuffed. I will return to Boma next year.

Day 5 - Kona Cafe

We did Kona before MNSSHP and I was full before eating so I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I could have.

Our apps were crab cakes and pot stickers, both to me were just OK, DH seemed to like them.

I had the prime rib and DH had the shrimp and scallops for our entrees. Again both to me were OK, the scallops were very good though. The shrimp were huge.

We were too full for desserts and had them boxed up. We choose the Chocolate Macadamia Nut Tart, and the Kilauea Torte.

I would probably not dine here again and wished I booked Liberty Tree Tavern instead.

Thanks for the reviews and great pictures! We ate at Le Cellier once last year and we also decided to make 2 ADRS for this trip! I can't wait!

Great reviews. Makes me wish I was eating at one of those places than at home tonight. And thanks for the pics. Made everything seem more yummier.

That "Shwarma" platter & the Dole Whip Float both looked SO good. Thanks for the pictures and the report.

pirate: Thanks for the reviews and the pictures. Everything looks yummy. We leave on Sunday for our Magical Trip. We can't wait! :woohoo: :yay: :moped: :hourglass :thumbsup2

Thanks for the reviews and photos. Your daughter is adorable!

Your food taste seem similiar to my group and with that I will strongly encourage you to give the Kona Cafe another try. Although we wished their appetizer selection was a little more varied their entree and desserts are wonderful. The food quality far excedes LTT. Although my DH would disagree with this statement, myself and 14 yr old son found the filet medallions to be superior over our steak at Le Cellier on our past trip. When I say we cut them with a fork I actually mean that literally.

We have never tried the Cinderalla buffet because prior to 17 months ago we didn't have a daughter but we may give that one a try next summer.

Thanks for the pics!!!

Thanks for the reviews. Please tell me what time you went to 1900 Park fare as I am trying very hard to avoid restaurants at very busy times. My ADR for this restaurant is at 4:40pm around opening time. I might change it to after 8pm for one of the last seatings.

My ADR for 1900 Park Fare was for 7:20pm. We got there at 7:00pm and it was busy until we left a little before 9:00pm. This was a Monday evening.

Thankyou. I can't believe it was busy that late. I'm also going on a monday. I guess I'll just keep my 4:40 then and hope for the best.

great review and wonderful pics.... I have one question...what is on the "Shwarma platter"?

Shawarma Platters - Chicken and/or Lamb (we had both) served with hummus, tabbouleh and Tangierine CousCous salad with fresh Moroccan bread.

Delish!

Thanks for posting your reviews and pictures, I enjoyed them. Your DD is so adorable, BTW! :goodvibes
