Disney Theme Park Ticket increase history

Should make this thread in the beginning of Otc. Disney theme park ticket just increased. The months with the observations of more price increase since 1971.

Fed and June more likely be the month to jump... So plan ahead wisely and have a nice vacation!

That was just to get through the gates. How much were the ticket books with various numbers of A,B,C,D,&E tickets? How much were the individual tickets, if you wanted to ride more E-ticket attractions, for instance, than E tickets that were in the book? How much would it cost to experience every attraction at least once?

I agree that ticket prices have increased tremendously since 1971, but to be more accurate you need to compare the prices from when the “Pay One Price” admission debuted in whatever year that was.

I remember when gas was less than a dollar just a few years ago. Oddly enough the cashier at the gas station is unmoved by this.

I remember when I switched gas stations because they charged 25¢/gallon and the other one charged 26¢!

$3.50 was just to get in. To ride all the rides it cost an additional $14.05. Total is actually $17.55.

$17.55 in 1971 is $129.15 today. Ticket prices average about $135 for 1 day at Disneyland. Some days you can go for as low as $104. And there are a lot more rides and entertainment. It's actually a BETTER value today. It's definitely not 4000% higher.

In 1982, Disney stopped selling the individual ride tickets, and instead it was a one-fee one-park $15.00 ticket. You want to park-hop to EPCOT? Another $15.00. Discovery Island was $3.00. River Country $7.00

It's very hard to compare prices as there were so many different options. But definitely not anywhere near even 4000% - "maybe" a 100% price increase, depending how you look at it.

That's really interesting. I haven't read it all yet, but I noted that there was a time when a Child was under 12, not 9, and there was a "Junior" price for ages 12-17. Also, I noticed that there was an occasional senior discount.
