Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

We stayed there in September. The lounge is a lot larger than before, but still fills up during the appetizer/drinks time. They offer fairly substantial meal options at that time. We felt like we didn’t need dinner reservations.
Thanks for the info! This is great news - I'm planning for larger lunches & skipping dinner reservations.

We stayed in RPC at the GF Feb 1-8, and had a very nice trip. We got our room request, were met at the curb and escorted up, and didn't have any real issues or problems (other than MB issues, but this time they related more to the parks than the resort room and elevator). Overall it was a wonderful trip, both in regards to RPC and to the GF. While we didn't have any problems, there was also nothing that really wowed us or knocked our socks off, but that's really ok, it's just always a nice surprise when something amazing happens or someone just goes above and beyond.

In the lounge, the majority of CMs were pleasant but unremarkable, there were a few that were excellent, and a couple that seemed a little less than thrilled with requests but were professional enough about it, their demeanor just betrayed their actual feelings lol. It didn't stop us from asking for things like drinks, etc, we just were happy when we saw certain CMs in the lounge knowing it would be a more pleasant experience. Overall we didn't have any issues, and usually we could find a CM easily to get drinks or ask questions, a couple of times we had to wait quite a while. There were a couple of apparent managers in suits there a lot, I did have to ask them a couple of times since I saw them and not a regular CM. They were happy to help, but weren't asking us if we needed anything when we were obviously standing around waiting.

The food was good, somewhat varied (evening apps were always varied), and fairly plentiful. I did notice desserts weren't always filled up to the end, and they would run out of some desserts and not refill them. They had much more variety than most CLs, though, so it was less of an issue. At breakfast they sometimes seemed to get overwhelmed between clearing tables, replenishing food, and handling guest requests. If you have 2 people finding a table would not be a problem, with 6 we did sometimes have to check back or take it to the room during breakfast or apps, but normally found something. They had the waffle bar 6 our of our 7 mornings, and I saw the chef preparing a special dessert once. We were in the lounge quite a bit, we hit all of the services multiple times throughout our week and made meals out of them a lot. We had breakfast in the lounge every day we didn't leave before it started, had deserts most nights, and made midday, apps, and tea probably half of the days each.

We loved the room, we got our request of the 4th floor overlooking the beach pool and Poly. Close to the lounge but not on top of it, you can see the lobby when going to or from your room, you can hear the orchestra from near the door, and our kids could watch the bucket dump in the kids play area. I have found over the years that a good room and view matters a lot to us, and really elevates the stay if all else is equal, so that really helped our stay. I also like the extra wet bar and huge storage area under that sink that those rooms have. I know I've read a lot of people saying the GF rooms are dated or tired, but I haven't felt that way and like the rooms. They aren't the new style Disney is going to, but I don't have a problem with them and like that they all have a daybed, and ours was in good shape.

We've stayed in all CLs except AKL, CR tower club, and now GDT, and RPC and The Poly are my 2 favorite, I've thought about it a lot and I can't pick one over the other. I love them both, and they both have different strengths. It's a tie, and either is great.

After leaving my review above, now the bittersweet part. Our twins turned 3 yesterday, so we are now a Disney family of 6 and don't fit in regular resort rooms  . This was our last hurrah for CL, I'm glad it was at RPC, although the kids would have preferred Poly or CR. We might be able to do a BWI or WL deluxe room sometime, but certainly not regularly both because of availability and price. It was a good run while we had it, and now we're all spoiled. I'll never say never, because occasionally my DH and I go alone for a long weekend, or we only take the older kids, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that we stay CL again, but it won't be most or all stays like it's been for 9-10 yrs.

Our other news is that we bought into DVC at the Riviera during our trip! Even though we need a 2BR we decided it made sense (we actually should have bought in 10 yrs ago), and since we sized out of CL rooms that was the extra push we needed to take the leap (I had been reluctant to give up CL for DVC before so we hadn't really considered it). We got enough points for every other year in a 2BR to start, if we love it we'll look into adding on another contract in a year or 2. I'm looking forward to this new chapter in our WDW trips, it's been a while since we've had something new to learn and try.

Funny, after reading the first part I was going to suggest looking into DVC!!! Congrats and Welcome Home!!! You’ll be adding on before you know it... it’s addictive!!!!

I'm glad you had such a wonderful trip, and congrats on your DVC purchase! Since you have a lot of experience with Poly CL, what do you like most about it/what stands out to rate it so highly? I would love to hear more opinions from people who've stayed there.

:-) I just checked my messages and DSS called me on the 9th! They called to see if I needed assistance and reminded me that my ADR date was the 11th. Glad I listened to.my messages. I got the post card weeks ago. Probably longer. Then I switched from BWI to WL on January 18. So not sure if this call was WL people or just general DSS.

Looking at KerryCM's pictures makes me want to switch back :jumping1:

Kerry, are your pics from the boardwalk inn? My plan had been to do GF Sugarloaf but now I am reconsidering. I’ve been watching videos of the BWI and am impressed with the offerings. It looks more kid friendly. Any thoughts for anyone who has stayed both?

All Disney resorts are kid friendly!

There is no comparison between BWI CL and GF SL......IMO

BWI has much more to offer in just about every way.

Those are pics from BWI that @KerryCM has been posting.

Yes, I am at the BWI. I was here just a few days ago too with my 7 yr. old granddaughter for her cheer competition. My son and his family have always stayed at the Beach Club Club level until they have stopped families of 5 from booking rooms there! Piper ate everything here. She loved Chef Reggie! She was late getting back from cheer practice on steak night, her favorite meal, but he put some aside for her and she devoured it. It was as fresh as when he served it in the lounge.
When we returned home my son asked her where she liked staying better Beach Club or Boardwalk, Piper shouted, “Boardwalk “! She said, “Everyone talks to you there, even kids, and they do special things for you.” She does not know the whole family is returning the end of March for a family trip to the Boardwalk Inn!
