Glad we have the DIS to share our excitement, every trip is so much fun. We are always planning and slowly paying for our next trip. My reply is “it’s no different than those people that go to the same beach every year”We’re exactly 14 days til our BC stay. Yay! But I have a bit of a downer, I haven’t told anyone (except our children) that we’re going yet. I’m dreading the “again!”, “y’all live over there”, & the absolute worse “must be nice” comments. I don’t even post on FB our trips anymore. To be honest, I usually only tell our kids & my parents now (and of course work). I don’t understand all the negative comments about the amount of times we go or that we go to Disney at all. And I hate feeling like I have to justify how we spend our time & money. I’m always so happy for anyone when I hear they’re going to Disney or anywhere else. I think it’s wonderful to travel & do things that make you happy. I wish everyone felt that way too.

We are in our 60s and visit MouseWorld ever other year when folks make comments I just say “Disney World is a wonderful place! It’s a shame people have to waste it just on children”We’re exactly 14 days til our BC stay. Yay! But I have a bit of a downer, I haven’t told anyone (except our children) that we’re going yet. Just got back from my stay at the Yacht Club, was very nice. I got put into room 1001, the absolute furthest walk from the front desk that I could imagine but the view was spectacular and the walk wasn't too horrible if I took the outside short cut. As mentioned before in this thread the market was a complete disaster, sectioned off the whole time I was there with some sort of water leak. Luckily I didn't buy a refillable mug as it did look like they were having issues with the freestyle machines the entire time as well. Besides, the walk would have really put a damper on getting refills. I was sort of surprised that they didn't offer 2 liter soda bottles for sale as they directed me to the Beach Club market place, (who of course were out of diet coke). A walk to Boardwalk grocery found they were out as well, sigh
Otherwise the Christmas decorations were grand and I had a wonderful time. Did most of my dinning in Epcot or other parks.
Trying to choose a room type/location at the BC.... How long does it take to get to the bus stop if staying by the quiet pool? Will we be able to sit on the buses on rope drop mornings or will they be near capacity by the time they get to BC?
We checked in yesterday. Loving it (again). We received a room not ready text while on the DME bus, but stopped by reception when we arrived and our room was ready. We were upgraded from a garden view to a water view and the room is lovely. Were able to watch Illiuminations from our balcony. We are just a few rooms down from the room DH and I had in March. I called to ask for a fan and it was brought to us in 2 minutes (really).
We waited in the DME line at the airport for 20 minutes. Our ride to YC was 50 minutes. We were the last stop after CBR, BE, and BC. It was just DD and me for YC. Our driver was very enthusiastic and a great driver. A terrific start to our vacation even though we were dropped off last.
Off to Epcot today. We have the CP package lunch at Chefs de France and the 5:00 performance with Gary Sinise. It’s a good day.
I have been so busy the past year that it has been hard to keep up...I retired last December and thought I would have plenty of time to keep up. Didn't happen,I have been busier than ever and don't know when I had time to work.
We have been doing extensive renovations on our house and moved into an apartment the day after our July trip and moved back into our house three days after returning from our end of November early December trip. Had to cut the trip short because of the move,we expected to be in the apartment 2 months 3 at the most and it turned into 5 .
Anyway, we had a great stay at the YC. Got a call from someone at the YC a few days before the trip welcoming us to the YC and asking a few questions and asked if we had any. I told him I didn't have any since we stay there often. First time ever getting a call. We were met by a CM when we drove up and escorted to the CL floor where we were given a welcome drink and told to wait in the lounge. I thought that was a bit strange, I did online check in and didn't receive a room ready text...not that it is usual I only get them about a quarter of the time... About 10 minutes later we were escorted to the desk to get our room number. It was the farthermost room from the lounge, we have never been anywhere near that far before, but it's not really important to me to be close. When we got to the room there was welcome gift and note welcoming us back to the YC. It was 2 small coffee cakes and a carafe of milk. Complete with glasses, plates, silverware and cloth napkins. Hear that GF!! Haven't had an acknowledgment from the GF that we are repeat guests in a couple of years now. The GF keeps cutting back and other CLs are stepping up.
Had a glitch with my MB's, none of them worked on the elevator or to open the door. Worked to get into the park and for FP's. The CL CM tried three times to fix them but they still didn't work so I stopped at the front desk and someone there got them fixed. DH's all worked so we could at least get up on the elevator and open the door until I got them fixed.
Sorry I don't know why or how my font changed while replying, hope it isn't too annoying.
The above was copied from the CL thread...too lazy to type it all out again...
I never got around to a review of our July stay and just wanted to give a quick review from our November trip.
There has been some complaints on mousekeeping lately, and just wanted to add our room was spotless. We got crumbs on the floor from the coffee cakes and they were all swept up, not a crumb to be found. One thing I noticed and haven't seen it mentioned here is our floor looked new, and slightly different from other rooms we had. I saw boxes of flooring in the hall a couple of days, so it appears they are replacing flooring. I have seen some complaints that the floors looks worn and scratched and I noticed in July our floor was scratched up. I don't know if they are replacing all the rooms or just some of them.
We just got back from a 4 night stay at YC. The trip was booked only a few weeks ago, after my son was cleared by his doctor to go (he had brain surgery in early October). Booked a pool/water view room with an AP discount. We were arriving on a very late flight, so I was surprised that I did not get a room text until we landed at MCO at 10:30 pm. To my surprise it was a club level room! We have stayed club level before, but never at YC. I had actually considered booking it for this trip since we would have more hotel time than normal since my son still had limited energy, but it was just too expensive. It ended up making it a perfect trip. The CL staff was fantastic. They made sure we had everything we need, and rearranged some dining reservations including our CP reservation last minute when my son needed unplanned breaks. The food and drinks were great, and the staff in the lounge was very accommodating if you asked for something different. Mousekeeping did a great job, the Christmas decorations at YC and BC were beautiful. The kids had a great time in the pool. My only complaint was the transportation to Animal Kingdom mid-day took almost 30 minutes for the bus to arrive, and the return trip to the airport took forever with so many stops before heading to the airport. In all though, we continue to love the YC/BC, and even more so the club level!

Thanks so much for sharing the info about your room. Any chance you have a photo of your view that you can share either here or email to me: beachclubdee at yahoo
What was the bedding? 2 queens? Daybed or no?
That is really disappointing about the marketplace issues.
We are officially OBSESSED with the Beach Club and are excited to return for Thanksgiving 2019 - for 19 (19!!!!) nights, starting 11/14/19!
We got home from our 16 night stay last Wednesday and I immediately began the race to rent enough points to return next year before our AP's expire on 11/28.
We visited many other resorts during our 2.5 weeks, including the Poly and AK Lodge and there is nowhere else we even wanted to attempt to stay for our next trip - even for a split stay.
I am so excited to bring my kids back "HOME" in 11 short months
Going "home" for the holidays again this year. This one is gonna be extra special.
We've been going every year (but 2011) since 2009. Last year was a bit of a stinker. We had family friends with us who just could not be pleased and they kinda killed our enjoyment a bit.
My dad had open-heart surgery in July and it really put our trip into question, but he's fine now and feeling infinitely better.
I made a note that we're celebrating his open-heart surgery. Stinks it's our last year for a little while, but excited to try a new tradition!
Random observations from our recent 5 night stay at YC. We loved it! Message me if you have any questions.
- We were in room 3210 - standard view - but it was a corner room, no connecting door, very quiet. It had two large windows on one side, but the view on that side was the ugly flat roof of the portico. The sliding doors to the patio overlooked a tree and the shingle roof of a covered walkway. I somehow failed to take pictures, but it was located on the front side (basically next to the portico, on the left side if you're outside looking up at the front entrance). It was a couple minutes walk to the elevators.
- Housekeeping was great the first two days, then slipped a little. Not enough to complain about anything, but I was a little disappointed. We got towel mickeys, a washcloth Christmas tree, some extras on the toiletries the first two days including some foot rub that was much appreciated. The floors did not feel clean, which others have mentioned, so it was clear that they did not sweep or mop during our stay.
- The beds, sheets and pillows were SO comfortable.
- This room had a daybed too, which was nice so our two boys didn't have to share a queen bed. The bathroom was spacious and there is tons of storage for clothes and shoes. We fully unpacked our suitcases and set up a large pop up laundry hamper for dirty clothes - I can't recommend this enough. Sliding the suitcases under the bed was fantastic and gave us much more space to enjoy in the room.
- All CM's were incredibly friendly. We checked in at 7:30am so our room wasn't ready, but we easily stored them and when we returned that night the bags were delivered to our room within 5 minutes of us entering it.
- The A&C market was handy, but we didn't use the drink machines often because there was only 1 functioning and the lines were very long.
- Pool was great and our boys had to get in even though it was not really swimming weather. We ate sandwiches at the pool bar once and were not impressed, but I guess you can't expect much from a pool bar.
- The location of YC can't be beat. Buses to AK and MK were frequent. Buses were shared with BC only and YC was the first stop. There were always far more people waiting at BC for buses. We walked to Epcot. We took the boat to HS once, but it took forever so we walked the long path the other times.
I didn't take many photos of the room, and not the best quality but I do have a few. I was a king bed with sleeper sofa.
Here is a pic of the view - I believe if you went out on the porch you could probably see the fireworks. I only surmise that because one night I watched them from the boat dock and sort of tried to visually line up from the room if that makes sense

I have a question about Stormalong Bay - when is it typically the most crowded in summer? Hoping to have some pool afternoons in July when we're there, but is that just totally crazy and will it be way too crowded? (If it's not closed for lightning, of course!) We are just 2 adults with no kids, but we'd like to be able to get inner tubes and not be swimming with crazy crowds.
What are the best pool times in summer? We want to go several times, maybe even every day, since this is partially why we chose to stay at BC!
Has anyone had anything delivered to YC/BC recently? I'm looking at UPS/FedEx for a food-based delivery so I don't want it to have to sit too long. It will be an overnight delivery with guaranteed before Noon delivery. Just curious to what the turnaround time for me to take possession of this item might be.
Well fedex delivers to the business office in the yacht and beach club convention center, not to the hotel front desk. If you can walk over there when they are open, you can pick it up. If you need to retrieve it after the business center is closed, talk to the hotel front desk.
I have never had a cake shipped. I would be worried that the box would be tipped or otherwise not handled with care. Or left outside in the heat.
We just returned from our first stay at the Yacht Club after spending the last twenty years staying in other Disney resorts. Overall, it was very nice. We enjoyed our stay and the location is great. However, when we got in bed the first night I noticed lots of huge holes in the sheets. Also, they never vacuumed the floor during our stay which was gross. It was a nice experience otherwise and I found the cast members to be more friendly than the ones we encountered at Polynesian earlier this year.
We stayed one night at YC in May, our intent was to spend all day in the pool, but Mother Nature had a different plan. Our girls were only able to play in the pool for about an hour. So our little one request we go back to Stormalong Bay, so we’ll be staying at BC for 2 nights in August. So excited.

We get the same thing, "must be nice" or "why wouldn't you try somewhere else? don't you have a sense of adventure?" I just don't talk about it anymore to certain people anymore. We get two vacations a year and Disney is our happy place, its a tradition now with our kids, it feels like our home away from home. We have our favorite place to stay, our favorite restaurants and favorite things to do. And anyway I'm not taking a chance with limited vacation time and that kind of money that my vacation will be a dud just because I need an "adventure". I guess I could ask the same people why do you go to the same place skiing every year.
What really annoys me about this is that other families go on vacation to the same place every year, or multiple times a year, and nobody says, "You're going to the Adirondacks AGAIN?" or "You're going to the New Jersey beach AGAIN?" or "You're going to Cape Cod AGAIN?" or whatever.
If someone makes a snide comment about our Disney trips, I'm wondering if the response should be, "Yes, we're going again. Where does your family like to vacation?" and see if they say that they go someplace every year.
We live in MA, and we get comments like these from people who ironically have summer homes in Maine or NH, and all I can think is, 'Wait....you're all worked up because I get on a plane and fly to FL once per year, yet you go to your home....the same home....every....single......weekend.... between May and October. If they'd only listen to themselves.
We just returned from a fantastic WDW trip -- 12/20-12/23 at WL, 12/23-12/27 at BC.

Just a few odds and ends photos from a recent trip to BC/YC:
