DVC 2 bdrm for upcoming trip. Need help deciding please.

Hi everyone. We have an upcoming trip scheduled for this August to WDW and need some help deciding between resorts. We love split stays to focus on different parts / amenities and so the first part of our trip is booked at Riviera in a 2 bdrm and the last part of our trip is booked at The Poly in 2 studios. What we need help on is deciding on a 2 bdrm to fill the middle 3 nights of our trip.

We have been visiting WDW every August for years and so are well aware of the scorching heat and humidity Florida enjoys at that time. We have learned over the years to simply enjoy the pool and resort amenities during the day and head into the parks around 4:00 PM to enjoy our evenings. We are a family of 4 (kids are very tall and need their own beds) so are currently torn between Copper Creek or Saratoga for middle trip section. We love Disney Springs and plan to have a few dinners there but are worried that the pools are quite a hike from some villas, which would be less than ideal for our daytime entertainment. We stayed at Saratoga Springs this past January and loved the resort and access to Disney Springs but the weather was nice and cool so never had to worry about pools etc. Conversely, we haven't been to Copper Creek in years but remember the resort being lovely and calm and the pool areas being quite large and convenient. Issue here is that Wilderness Lodge is secluded and a bit of a hike to Disney Springs etc. BUT we will have a rental car so likely not too bad.

Would love some input please. We would typically fill this middle section of the trip with a stay at either Boardwalk or Beach Club but unfortunately those resorts are fully booked.

Thanks for your time.

We stayed at BRV in June and were greatly impressed at how easy it was to get a shaded seat at their DVC pool. Having stayed at all DVC resorts multiple times, our opinion is that the Wilderness Lodge DVC pool is the best of all the quiet pools at WDW.

Conversely, the SSR quiet pools are relatively plain while the main SSR pool often is tough to get a seat at.

As you note, Disney Springs is great in January. As you expect, Disney Springs is tough in the heat.

Since you'll be there in August, go with Wilderness Lodge where you will have access to 2 good pools.

Are you talking this August? If so I’d grab CCV & be happy that there’s still space there, lovely resort & since you’ve recently stayed at SSR it will be a nice change of pace.

If CCV is available, that would be a nice place in the high heat of summer. Lots of places to find shade and relaxed setting overall.

Sounds like a trip with a lot of variety in resorts - have fun!

If you mean this August, you should not be spending lots of time determining which resort before booking something because anything that is open could disappear at any moment. If there are openings for a 2BR at any WDW DVC resort right now, you should reserve immediately. If two are open, just choose one and book it and then decide on whether you should try to change.

The rooms aren't very large (compared to other DVC) but we love Copper Creek and all of Wilderness Lodge. There's a lot to do there and it's a compact resort so you don't have to sweat it out getting around. Also you can take a boat to MK and hop on the monorail to other resorts. That's a plus to me. There was a boat taking you direct to Contemporary but I'm not sure if it's running yet.

The pools are basic but nice. The food choices are nice too.
