The Intros
Well Howdy there folks! (Psst.....This is where yall yell back a hearty HOWDY!) Welcome to the latest trip report from Mickeystoontown! Guess the only way to start off the trip report is with a proper introduction.
I guess since Im the Chief bottle washer, fry cook, clothes washer, trip planner, schedule keeper, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc., Ill start with me. Sorry that I got a little carried away on the etcs. but I sometimes feel like I do it all and nobody listens to my complaints so I thought Id just stick in a few etcs. so I could get them off my chest. What? Yall dont want to hear my complaints either? Shoot! Back to the intros.
Hey! Im Lisa a/k/a Mickeystoontown. Im a 46 year young mother to two amazing children (Lacey and Hunter), a Mama Lisa to a wonderful son-in-law (Jesse) and a wife to my loving husband (John). Im a paralegal by day and a trip planner by day AND night. Heck, I plan Disney trips in my dreams which is probably why I always wake up feeling like I could sleep another two or three hours. My hobbies, other than planning Disney trips, are baking, camping, working in the garden and hosting get-togethers so we can spend time with friends and family. I also sew backsacks and little girls dresses to help fund our Disney obsession.
Next up on our list of family members is my hubby, John. John is also 46 years old and is as much of a Disney lover as I am even if he wont readily admit it. He tries to act all nonchalant whenever I talk about Disney but let somebody else ask a Disney vacation question and the man can spout out Disney facts like nobodys business. John and I own a cabinet shop and John also works at a commercial cabinet shop. John is an outdoors kind of guy and could stay outside all day long if he could. He likes to work in the yard, work in the garden, work in the shop...sounds like a lot of work doesnt it? He likes it though so I guess theres nothing wrong with that. But, it also explains why he always feels like he could sleep another hour or two.
Heres a picture of John and I taken during our 2011 Disney trip. Its not the greatest of pics but I was too lazy to keep going through Photobucket to find a better one.
Lets move on to the next couple in our family of five. That couple would be Lacey and Jesse. They married in August of 2011 in Georgia...yep, 580.61 miles from our home State of Louisiana which was a big pain in the rear end. Those two better stay married forever and always cause I wont be doing any long distance wedding planning ever again. The two of them met each other while they were both attending Mission Georgia Masters Commission and fell in love. (Did I hear a collective sigh and some awwws out there?) Lacey and Jesse now live in Knoxville, Tennessee which is over 600 miles away so we dont get to see them as often as we would like. They are both very active in their church and do as much mission work as they possibly can. Up until Lacey began going to Masters Commission, she traveled to Disney World every year so shes a veteran Disneyer (yes, I made that word up and I think Im going to patent it cause I like it). Jesse, however, had only been once with his school choir and it was a whirlwind trip that included all four parks in just one day.
Lacey and Jesse waiting in line for Pirates of the Caribbean:
Rounding out our band of outlaws, I mean, family, is our son, Hunter. Hunter turned 15 years old the day we boarded the Disney Dream. Hes my Disney buddy and doesnt mind it one little bit if I talk about Disney 24/7. Hunter will be starting high school in the Fall and is a tad nervous. However, the boy never meets a stranger and is a jokester so I dont see making new friends being a problem at all. Hunter's hobbies include playing his X-Box 360 Live, playing the viola, acoustic and electric guitar and the keyboard and also cup stacking.
Just look at how relaxed Hunter looks while just chillin at the Caribbean Beach Resort:
For those of you who have read my past trip reports, you know that the pictures that I just posted are very tame when compared to previous reports. We like to do a little dancing , a little jumping and a whole lotta acting silly while together. I will be posting pictures that reflect us in the best light and pictures that make us look downright c-r-a-z-y. But, we are who we are and if Im going to tell the story of our adventures, then Im gonna tell it all and show it all to you...the good, the bad and the ugly. And, honey, there are some Ugly pictures (somehow they are mostly of me even though I'm the picture taker ), I can assure you.
Over the years, weve made some of the most wonderful memories...Hunter toddling down Main Street...Lacey riding her first rollercoaster....John and I celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary....John getting his toe broken in a drive-by scooter incident....my tooth falling out in the middle of The Electric Umbrella....getting stuck on Test Track....nearly running over a woman and child with a surrey bike...... You know, beautiful, warm and fuzzy memories that will last a lifetime.
This was our 17th trip to Walt Disney World, our 7th and 8th stays at the Caribbean Beach Resort and our very first cruise. So, what did we cruise virgins think of our first cruise? Did we have the time of our lives? How did Jesse fair on his first trip to the world with his in-laws? What the heck does my trip report title mean? Stick around and youll see. Get ready for a hand-clappin, foot stompin, security vistin good time with Mickeystoontown and Her Gang!
Oh and if you get antsy and wanna read something while I'm writing up my next installment, check out my pre-trip report (Mickeystoontown's Gang hits the Bahamas & WDW! Who gets choked or stuck this time?) for more details on how the trip came about, where we were staying, etc. I've been told that it's a pretty funny read.
