Hoping, wishing and praying for Free Dining :surfweb:

I want to go for the 40th year celebrations ;)

hey guys I have a quick question I Never ever got a code from disney I been staying on sight for the past ten years and never revived a disney code how messed up is that... What am i doing wrong :sad2: I spened a lot of money thru the years which could have been a down payment a home and paid off all my student loans by now .... But me and the family are disney nuts like the rest of the disers

Since they are sending a pin for July and August.....does this mean that booking is down? Just curious......:confused3

This is what is really making me lose hope for June. Since, even in these early personal code discounts for summer, June has been totally excluded. I'm thinking, No June Discounts. It surprises me though since I thought that generally June was less busy than July.

what 40th celebrations? yours or disney's?

Disney is celebrating its 40th year of the opening of WDW in October 2011
(It opened on October 25 1971)

There is already merchandise in the stores to commemorate it.

I just got back last week from 10 days in the world and managed to pick up some really neat souvenirs :thumbsup2

Adding in my hopes for free dining the last week of September. This will be my first time traveling with children and this will save us a lot. I know they are both under 3 so we don't have to pay for them, but we need to cut costs as much as possible for all of the extra souvenirs that we will have to buy for 2 toddlers.

I hope that free dining, or a room code, will be offered for July and August. Just about any offer would beat our AAA room rate. Come on, pixie dust!!! :goodvibes

If there is to be a new discount, I hope it's offered soon so I can quit wondering if it'll happen and go on with budgeting the trip in the best way with the code.

Just making sure you know about this room discount, found right on Disneyworld.com site.

Take advantage of up to 30% or 40% off at select Disney Resort hotels! Escape with the whole family for stays most nights April 28 to June 14, 2011 and August 14 to October 1, 2011. Book by March 27, 2011.

Your kidding right? I mean, if someone can save a few buck by asking for a Generic code xx., which does not have personal information, what is the problem. DIS is not part of Disney, lets not make it more than it is.

Hey.. I'll be blunt. I don't make the rules.. it's the ground rules of this message board. I don't set those.

People can do whatever they want ... but sharing non public codes via these boards ... is specifically singled out as not permitted.

I got a 40% off room only code for my trip in December. If they release a PIN for free dining, would I need to decide between one or the other, or could I end up being able to get both?

I was shocked that I received a pin for FD for the months of July and August. I wonder why they did not include June? I am sendingpixiedust: your way!!!!:banana::banana:

You have to choose...no stacking discounts, unfortunately. :upsidedow

Here's hoping for *something* in early August - PIN code or public - 'cuz right now, I'm booked rack rate at the Poly! :scared1:

The booking system will let the Cm's do all kinds of things they shouldn't do.

That said.. some folks who successfully booked may have had the PIN attached but didn't get the email or flyer in the mail for example.

That said.. none of it changes the fact that non-public codes are NOT to be disseminated on the DIS. That's the bottom line... regardless of "luck" booking with them or not. :)
Knox, I totally accept the rules of this board that you have posted pertaining to the posting of discount codes and I will abide by those rules and not share non-public codes.

But, I do want to say that I don't think the people on this board should be told that they will, or even might be, charged at check-in if they booked with a code that may or may not have been a public code. That just isn't true and people shouldn't be told that. Those vacations were booked by an authorized Disney Reservations Specialist and those codes and packages were indeed accepted and processed by the Disney computer reservations system. If you have booked a vacation with Disney, of which you have a hard copy or email confirmation of and you have paid in full the balance in which they quoted and charged, you are not going to be charged a different and/or additional amount at check-in. If Disney did this they would be in violation of the FTC Fair Trade Statutes, not to mention the PR nightmare that it would be.

I thought i remember seeing something like this but I can't find it anywhere. Is it true that free dining isn't offered to value resorts??

No, that is not true. Since 2005, when free dinig introduced, the value resorts have always been included in the free dining promos and discounts. Starting in the fall of 2009 the value resorts were given the Quick Service Dining for free dining promos and discounts. Deluxe and Moderate resorts still get the basic dining plan.

I hate to disappoint anyone looking for FD later this year, but...

I called WDW today to see if I had a PIN attached to my name. (I did...two actually!!!) Anyway, I brought up the possibility of switching my discount if free dining is offered again for November. She told me that all CM's were advised that the free dining offer that has already expired for 2011 was the only free dining offer we would see. I did mention that it didn't go into November, but she still insisted that there would not be another free dining offer. I know the CM's either don't always have all the info, can't give it up or are slightly misinformed, but this is a heads up to be aware.

I have no doubt that a CM told you that, but every year (heck, every week!) someone posts the exact same thing, that a CM told them that there would not be anymore free dining, but there always is . . . .

It simply comes down to numbers. Disney is in busniess to make money and that's exactly what free dining does for them. Free Dining is one of the best money making ideas those marketing geniuses at Disney have ever come up with. For example, look at the current crowd numbers for September and early/mid December. Those months used to be very low crowd periods - September even used to be described as a ghost town. With the introduction of the free dining discount Disney is now able to bring in tens of thousands of people to the Disney parks and resorts during those weeks that generate millions of dollars.

Personally, I think it's a pretty good bet that another late fall/winter free dining discount will be released this summer.

There are several different PINs being sent. One of them does exclude the value resorts. It's kind of like the Disney UK offer.

I hope I don't ask anything I'm not supposed to, But I am looking to book a trip in May of this year. May 15-May 19 to be exact. Is there anything at that time offering free dining? I know about the room only discount, checking to see if there's anything else being offered. Free dining would be great! Thank you

Hi, right now there is no generally-available U.S. free dining package for any 2011 dates including your May dates. There was a free dining offer that expired on 12/20/10, but it didn't include May 15-19, 2011 anyway. It only included arrivals on 5/27-6/2.

What's going on now is that some people are receiving individually-assigned PIN codes for free dining vacation packages in 2011, and along with that there's speculation about if another general free dining offer for dates in 2011 will re-appear.

I do not know why they would send pins for FD if they were not at least toying with the idea of releasing it in the fall. I always take what a CM says lightly. They are not always well informed.;) FD is huge!!!!

I hear yeah. I too am booked at the POLY. I waited thinking a room discount would be give and go figure it starts the week after we are going.

We are going Aug. 6-13... so here's for hoping for a FD PIN or Public code.
