How are Boardwalk views in BWV 2 bedroom?

Hi All,
Can anyone who has had a boardwalk view in a 2 bedroom at BWV comment on what they thought of it? Wondering if it's worth the long trek down the corridors, or if a preferred view with a request close to elevator would be better.
I've looked at the views on TouringPlans, but having a hard time deciding, and would love any first hand accounts you might have.
Thanks.

Agree with Bill. :) The rooms farthest from the elevators (and on the higher floors) have the best views of the fireworks, but they also can be noisy when the JellyRolls crowd leaves at closing (even with windows and balcony/patio doors closed).

If you will be traveling with strollers or wheelchairs/scooters or guests who find it difficult to manage stairs, it may be more important to be close to the elevators. There are many stairways scattered throughout the resort - some of them are quite convenient to the pools and walkways.

Thanks for the opinions. This would be a trip for adults only, so strollers etc. aren't an issue.

We have stayed Boardwalk View many times and found the best view was in the Crest 'O the Wave section.

See this map showing the 2BR boardwalk views in green: http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/BWV_BoardwalkView.jpg. As for views:

1. The Crest o the Wave Section is the one at the right end on the map that includes the DVC preview center and the one furthest from the elevator. You want to avoid at all costs the 2BR on the first floor there right next to the preview center. It is at boardwalk level and passerby's can look right into your room. All the 2BRs in that section above that first floor have good views but the higher the better. Higher is also better to lower the amount of noise you here from persons on the boardwalk. The 2d to fifth floor 2BRs there all have the smaller rail type balconies where you can easily see down and left and right while sitting on the balcony.

2. The two 2BRs on the second floor of the "Screen Door" section on the left side of the map are the two closest to the elevator but you still have to walk a bit to get to the elevator. Those two have large wooden type balconies. The space given by those balconies is most enjoyable but the viewing can be an issue. Look right or left and you have the porch walls blocking the view. Sit down and you cannot see the boardwalk because the outer wall is solid with no opening like a rail porch. They also have a view issue even when standing because directly across from them is the boardwalk basketball carnival game that partially blocks the view of the bay.

3. The two 2BRs shown on the second floor above Character Carnival and Thumbles and Threads are also ones with the large wooden type balconies and have like issues as the ones above the Screen Door section.

4. The 2BRs above the Big River Grill vary in type of balcony. The ones on the second floor are essentially the large wooden balconies with the same front rail and side wall issues as described above. The third floor rooms actually have the rail type balconies but you have a side wall at the left and right side of the Big River Grill section. Nevertheless, those are very good rooms to get. The fourth floor in the Big River Grill area also has rail balconies but you want to avoid the fourth floor like the plague. Those 2BRs have no balcony outside the living rooms. The only balconies are those outside the studio and the bedroom portion of the 1BR and you cannot get to either of those balconies directly from the living room. The two 2BRs on the fifth floor of that section have the wooden type balconies except the studios have no roof over them or high sidewalls, and the 1BR, both living room and bedroom portion, have a rail rather than solid wood outer wall so you can see down to the boardwalk when sitting down. Because of the larger balcony space, I personally prefer those fifth floor 2BRs over the ones in Crest o the Wave.

The request I usually make is for fifth floor and have gotten fifth floor above Big River Grill or in the Crest o the Wave section about 50% of the time when making that request.

I have had the two bedroom on the fourth floor above Big River Grill, and yes it was very disappointing. We had brought friends with us and we could not all sit on the balcony together because there was none from the living room!
