I would have said, "I'll delete them in exchange for some free anytime FPs!"No, I don't think he was a manager. Just one of several in a crew standing around a clean up cart outside our room.

I was kind of taken aback. He originally approached me and was telling me about other spots where there was damage and then looked at me with a confused look on his face and asked if I worked at Disney. I have a magic band on my wrist and dressed in t-shirt and leggings takings pics with my iPad so I'm not sure how he thought I looked like an insurance adjuster or something. Anyway, I told him I was a guest and he asked me to delete the pictures as that's not the message they want getting out there. I told him I wasn't doing it to spread anything negative about Disney but rather to document what had transpired on our vacation here. It was kind of a big deal...anyway, I deleted them and he thanked me. He was very nice about it but still...
Why? They weren't nasty or threatening. They may have been following instructions or doing what they thought was policy. It's not like they were spoiling the magic for anyone.
What??!? They can't ask you to delete photos. Wow.
I would still get his name and go above his head to management. I don't even care if he's a manager himself.
There's no way they can damage control something of this magnitude. Disney should be thankful.
Because he/she is speaking on behalf of WDW and prob not his place. You just don't do that. According to pp, he stood there and watched her delete it. So unless he represents the legal department, he should shut it.
True.
They were pics I took right outside of our room. He has since left. There is absolutely nothing stopping me or anyone else from taking the pics again anyway.
Especially considering the situation I can't see the sense in making a mountain out of it. They may have been following what they thought was policy -- and they did not treat the guest nastily, nor did they spoil their trip.
Hey ya'll. Remember my post many pages back about flying and the pebble? FYI Delta has cancelled 900 flights and SW has cancelled all flights after 1. This is at Atlanta Airport. (Source WSB).
Of course they can have a policy in an open area that is on their property.Policy in an open public area? Lol. Personally, I don't take "policies" like that easily. After being couped in their rooms, all these guest have right now are photos.

Quite frankly, that request was completely out of line. I also suspect that it was something the CM did without direction from management. "Magic" aside, I'm pretty sure people understand that the trees at Disney World are still subject to the laws of physics. It's not the same as similar requests made backstage that may show the non-public workings of the parks.I was kind of taken aback. Please get the name of that vigilante CM and report them. That's insane
Canceling flights for when? Today? Tomorrow?
Those are flights out of the Atlanta airport?
Yes let's report the poor Cm who is working at least 60 hours on the clock to make sure resort guests are safe....
I don't think they should be reported to "get in trouble," just so that they are made aware of what they can or cannot request from a guest. They can ask for anything they want, my response is "NO" Sorry Mickey!
They can't force you to do that unless they have previously posted that you are entering an area where photos are not allowed (like at the D23 Expo)
I agree you should have gotten his name and reported him. Some people should not be in a position of power (Next time take a photo of him LOL!)
For those flying in this week, do you plan on checking your luggage or just doing carry-on? I hear there is a higher chance of lost luggage after a weather event, but my daughters MNSSHP costume takes up sooooo much room.
