I am irrationally bothered by....

Here's my list:
>Improper grammar, spelling, and language. Nobody is perfect, but the rampant misuse makes me crazy.
>People who are on their cell phones all the time. If you are going to spend your time with me reading Facebook, email, etc., why do you want to spend time together?
>Political posts, memes, etc. that are not fact-checked.
>The whole "our pets are people" attitude.
>Gun violence.
>Household residents who cannot remember where the pots, pans, utensils, dishes, etc. belong. I'll add canned goods, pastas, and most non-refrigerated foods to this list. We've only been in this house for 13 years, only lived together for 30, so I'm not sure why someone can't remember these things!

Attention seekers on social media who post vague comments like, "I should have seen this coming" which then leaves everyone to wonder what was meant by that. Or a posted vague message directed at an unnamed person like, "Act your age and not your shoe size." Someone will ask, "What's going on?" The poster will reply, "I'll message you." Don't post a vague message at all on social media if you aren't going to say what is wrong and don't post to only one person. That's what texting and private messages are for.

Also I get bugged when people post selfies that are so obviously doctored with an app to make the person look 50 pounds lighter where one-third of the neck and cheeks are missing. Embrace who you are. We all know you and know what you look like in real life.

Memes and "women beware" stories on social media that aren't fact-checked. I can sniff those out a mile away. Google is your friend.

I must need a break from social media. :crazy2:

I agree. Luckily, my FB feed is drama-free, but there is one person I had to un-follow because I just couldn't take the constant attention-seeking posts.

I'll add one more to that...FB friends who only ever post "inspirational" memes. I tend to un-follow them as well.

My kids bickering and fighting over the STUPIDEST things.
My daughter faking sick whenever she has to go somewhere she doesn't necessarily want to go(like the grocery store).
My son diverting my instructions/discipline to his sister: "Well JADE...." "Does JADE have to..."

*Obviously it's been a long summer.

College textbook prices. Thank GOD for Amazon rentals because I am SO not paying $800. The books for science courses can bankrupt a person.

People who are rude to cashiers when they can't fulfill a request or do what the customer is ordering them to do.

I liked your post so now I will be blessed with 1000 baby kitties and pixie dust right???

People bragging about their kids' perfect manners, accomplishments, ability to amazingly not act like a child vs. other kids (up the irritation if the brag includes self-congratulation on their superior parenting methods or the lack of use of someone else's terrible parenting methods)

Waitstaff trying to take my plate while Im still eating

One of my kids repeatedly asking the other one a question and the other not listening/ignoring/can't understand, etc so questioner just continues questioning louder and louder

Ridiculous political garbage posted on FB that if you just googled you'd easily find has been circling the internet practically since its inception and just keeps getting recycled for different politicians.

Guns (though I don't feel it's irrational)

Inspiration porn

People who think they're NASCAR drivers and try to draft by hanging less than three feet from your bumper on the interstate, even when there are no cars in the left lane and they can easily pass you. We saw a wreck yesterday caused by just such nonsense.

As other posters have said, vague social media posts. I refuse to play into the pseudo-drama by responding or trying to draw the poster into telling us all what their perception of the problem is.

People who ask for explicit directions, then ignore them. "Where should I put this bowl? I'll put it up if you tell me exactly where you want it to go." "Second upper cabinet from the left, second shelf, on the left side, behind the popcorn bowl." "OK, I'll just put it here on the table. You can figure out where you want it to go."

People who assume that because I work from home, I do nothing all day and am free to run errands for them.

listening to people sing through their nose. Usually it's just kids that do it and it doesn't bother me too much unless it's in a movie or something, but there are grown adults that have never learned to sing from their diaphragm and it bugs me so bad. For example, in the first High School Musical movie, Vanessa Hudgens sang through her nose and I almost couldn't stand to listen to it. And unfortunately my son was always wanting to watch it when he was younger. Ugh.

People who say "gone missing" instead of "disappeared".

If someone can explain how someone or something and "go missing", I will withdraw my objection.

- People in the passing/ fast lane doing the speed limit
- Drivers not using turn signal or leaving their turn signal on
- Tour groups in WDW that have no respect for their surroundings and other guests
- People who abuse the ECV system in WDW

I'm that person who drives the speed limit in the "fast" lane. Technically the speed limit applies to both traffic lanes, you know. At least that's how it works in my state; trucks and slower moving traffic are supposed to stay right to allow for people to pass them in the other lane, but just because you are driving in the left lane doesn't make it legal to exceed the limit. I tend to stay to the right because I'm more comfortable there and I do drive slower than most people (the speed limit), but if I'm driving locally on a 4 lane or divided highway and I need to be on the left to turn into a business on the other side of the highway you are out of luck.

That's not how it works here(especially on the highway). There are even signs that say this:

People who pull out in front of my car only to stop quickly and make a turn without using their turn signal two blocks down the road.

People who share memes on Facebook or make posts that use the word your instead of you're. Didn't they learn the difference in second grade?

People who post all of their personal drama on Facebook or who post pictures of their sick kids. Who wants to have a picture posted of them while they are feeling horrible?

Constant complainers who find fault in everything all of the time.

People who abuse children, pets, or the elderly. I will never forget reading a story of a child whose mother made him kill his pet hamster because he disobeyed her. The story haunts me.

One of my kids repeatedly asking the other one a question and the other not listening/ignoring/can't understand, etc so questioner just continues questioning louder and louder
And then they scream at the other one for being annoying sparking WWIII even though it could have been avoided if they had just simply answered the question in the first place???

Like I said...... It's been a LOOOOOOONG summer.

Oh yeah... This happened to me yesterday:

People who wait to take your parking space with their blinker on even though you JUST began loading 20 bags of groceries an kids into the car. It's even better when they honk. I hope they weren't in a rush because I suddenly had the desire to use all of my Candy Crush lives on a super hard level ::yes::

1. When DH eats chips. For the love of Pete DH, close your mouth before crunching! I literally have to force myself to stay on the couch with him and endure it until he is done.

2. Hitting a traffic jam. My BP seriously raises when I see the brakelights in front of me.

3. When my coworker refers to her 2 year old as "the kid" or "the munch". And when she refers to her new baby as "Mo 2.0" (their last name starts with the letters M-O-****, and BTW...."The Kid's" fetus name was Baby Mo.) Why do people feel like they need to nickname their fetuses nowadays?!! What happened to simply calling it "the baby?"

4. An unswept hard floor in the house. I cannot STAND walking on hardwood or ceramic tile or whatever, and feeling debris on my feet.

People who can't just say sorry when they're wrong.
Couples that break up and get back together 50x, airing their dirty laundry in FB every.single.time.
Kids with no manners.
Parents who let their kids run around with no manners and think it's cute.
Dust on furniture
Asymmetrical anything
Toenails longer than the toe

The space is yours until you leave it.:thumbsup2

A lot of these things aren't irrational. Just peeves. I would say irrational is something that just shouldn't bother anyone really but for some reason it irks you.

For me it's pruny fingers. I gross out at the sight of them.

Mornings.
