Hi friends, who’s ready for another Missyrose and Pixel Dust trip report? There are lots of fun firsts coming your way in this story: Our first summer trip, our first stay at the Villas at the Grand Floridian and our very first trip to Diagon Alley at Universal Studios!

But before we really get the party started, let’s make some introductions for those who may be new around here.

That’s me on the left. I’m Missy, the 32-year-old Disney-aholic.

To fund my Disney habit, I work as an editor in the sports department of a newspaper in Washington D.C. I love all things sports, pop culture and, of course, The Mouse. My favorite Disney character is Minnie Mouse. My favorite Walt Disney World ride is Big Thunder Mountain. And my favorite Disney snack? Casey’s corndog nuggets.

My partner in crime (and my loving husband!) is Franklin, a.k.a. Pixel Dust here on the Dis.

He is also 32 and works for an architecture firm to pay the Disney bills. His passions are cars (both the lower-cased cars and the movie “Cars”) and photography.
Guido from “Cars” is his favorite Disney character. And he could ride Expedition Everest all day if given the chance.

We had some new faces with us on this trip, too!

That’s my dad, Irv, on the right. His favorite Disney ride is Space Mountain and his favorite Disney movie is “101 Dalmatians.” Toasting with him is his girlfriend, Michelle. Her favorite ride is Splash Mountain and she’s a “Cinderella” kind of woman.

Chelsea, Michelle’s daughter, rounds out our intrepid Disney crew. She loves Space Mountain and can watch “Sleeping Beauty” over and over again.

Now that you know the who, let’s give you the rest of the trip data:

When: August 23-30

Where: Villas at the Grand Floridian (and a bonus night at Bay Lake Tower)!

Why: Villains Unleashed, Frozen Summer Fun and so much more!

Where did this trip report title come from? The most unlikely source: My dad! He, Michelle and Chelsea got a kick out of (jokingly) making fun of how much Franklin and I know (obsess, really) about Disney. We were out one night and we heard fireworks in the distance and Dad said, with all the confidence of a Disney pro, “I can spot Frozen fireworks anywhere!” We all dissolved into laughter and we knew the TR had its name.

And like all of my previous trip reports, I’ll make you this promise: You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, but mainly, you’ll wish you were in Orlando RIGHT NOW!

Yay for a new TR! I haven't been on DIS as much lately what with the start of the new school year, but I will definitely bookmark it and catch up every once in a while. Love your adventures and Franklin's pictures, of course!

Am excited to read all about your trip and follow along with Franklin's photos.

We've booked the VGF for our February trip, and I'm guessing your report will make me even more anxious for that trip to start.

Super excited to read all about your trip and see Franklin's awesome photos! :) I "liked" your FaceBook page about halfway into your trip so I got to see some of the fun you had!!

Can wait to see all your/Franklin's amazing firework pics ... the Frozen fireworks not only could be spotted from anywhere, but they were great!

Looking forward to the read!

I have signed up to the boards especially for this read :)

Great to meet you and Franklin in HS and particularly great to receive photo advice from Franklin!

Bring it on!

From across the pond.
