If money were no object, which DVC would you buy and why?

Likely VGF, as it's so tough to get certain times of year. But AKV would be a close second.

If money were no object, however, more important than resort would be to buy enough points to stay in a Grand Villa anywhere on property for one week every year. We have a large family, and that would be a dream come true for me. Looks like 1500 points would allow us that option at even the busiest times of year at the most point-heavy resorts.

Alternatively, those 1500 points could allow my husband and I to stay in studios or one bedrooms for a good month or two a year when we retire if there were years that our children weren't coming to Disney...
if you could get 1500 points for free, would you have any concern about paying the dues? I’m trying to figure out the math in how good a value DVC is and the dues seem to be a wildcard.

Can you tell me why BCV is so much more expensive on the resale market than Boulder Ridge? They are both 2042. Is BCV just considered that much better?
in short, supply and demand
but the answer you want has a few factors (in no order)
1. The direct price of BC from Disney - WOW
2. the importance of the 11 month window. thats probably the biggest one. There is no "flower and Garden" or "food and wine" for BR. thats a lot of weeks in the year that you need 'home court advantage" at BC
3. BR is great at Christmas, but thats high demand for all of DVC. So there really is no point in time where BR has a relatively high demand.

I think the location and the pool are probably 2 major items for folks. The ability to walk to EPCOT and walk/boat/skyline to DHS are huge pluses. You are within very close proximity to many restaurants and stores. In recent years, with the expansion and popularity of the EPCOT festivals, the International Entrance to EPCOT is being used a lot more.

And you can't beat the pool area! It's awesome.

Well, the question of the thread was "if money were no object," so if money were no object, the annual dues wouldn't be a factor for me as ideally I'd have enough money to pay those dues for years and years. :)

In the end, the dues are by far more expensive than the original buy-in, which makes DVC not that great a "value" vs. just investing the money in the bank. However, this is a dream thread, so I wasn't really considering if it was a good value or not, haha!

Value is quite subjective. The value of our DVC membership the past 25+ years has been priceless to us, even with the dues. We knew that going in. There's not a bank anyplace giving us those memories......

Probably the pool. And walkability to Epcot and Hollywood studios. Boulder ridge has a private boat to magic kingdom which is nice. But it’s not as nice as being able to walk.

Location. So nice to be able to walk to Epcot and close to HS. Also the pool is so nice. I do love BRV though. Boat ride to MK is super convenient and the resort is beautifu!!!

VGC because it’s so darn small. Otherwise VWL (BRV) because the lodge is the place to be for me.

I’d still go with OKW, just buy a lot more points to secure much larger accommodations so we can invite friends & family and visit more often.

BW, Poly and AKL. If money were no object surely you couldn't have just one.

These resorts are the most fun!

If money were no object I'd take one of each please! :)

But, if limited to only one, it would have to be Boulder Ridge. Never had a bad trip staying at Wilderness lodge, and adore that wooden covered walkway with flickering lanterns.

I love our Poly contract, but if money were no object I would buy a 2nd at BCV. Maybe a 3rd at AKV :earsboy:

10 nights is just the right amount for us. 10 nights, 2 bedroom GFV end of March or beginning of April every year. (If money is no object, I guess I would get enough points for 2 weeks so I have some extra points to play around with)

That's a hard one since there are so many good ones. I would probably go with VGF and get enough points for a couple weeks in a grand villa for any time of year.

I would still have purchased our current contracts AKV and BCV.

I would definitely add VGC and likely Copper Creek.
