Have you ever had a dream you figured would stay just that......a dream? I have....as I'm sure most of you have.
I'm an Oregonian, born & raised......I took my first trip to Disneyland when I was 5 yrs old, I've been 9 times since that first trip. Do I remember much of that first trip?? Not really, a small memory of the Jungle Cruise & Dumbo but for the most part, it made for a deep sub-conscious love for the park. Disney music, movies, merchandise, etc has been a part of my life since the beginning. I wasn't able to share this love with my 3 sons until 2005 when they were 20, 18 & 16. I guess it wasn't too late, as they are now all very Disney-fied & fans like me. My family has grown to 7 kids & I have an awesome husband who all LOVE Disney.
So that brings me back to my dream~~unrealized up to this point. I got the opportunity to see Disneyland this past December for the holidays.
I LVE Christmas time & putting 2 of my favorite things together was magical!! When I got home & shared my pictures with my hubby....he realized, he wanted to go for Christmas time in 2012 & share it with the kids. I agreed it would be an awesome time to go. So one evening, I sat down & priced it out. Motels down & back, 6 day parkhoppers, good neighbor motel across from the parks, rental van, gas, food, etc. With our family size of 8, it's not cheap. So for fun, I pulled up the WDW site & priced a trip for the same time, 8 day tickets with dining, resort motel, flight, rental van, gas, etc & found we could stay longer for about $1500 more! WHAT???? Are you kidding me, we could do our dream trip to WDW instead of going to DL for just a little more money??? Trust me, I priced it out a few times to make sure I wasn't mistaken........so after showing this information to my hubby, we agreed......WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!!!!!!!!
So, even though we're a long ways out.......as a newbie & known uber-planner.....it will take me the full 11 months to get our dream trip put together. I hope to get helpful tips from my readers & make some new friendships on this side of the boards.
We have booked 2 rooms at the Pop Century Resort for December 7-16th!!! Let the discussions & planning commence!!!
