Thank you marchingstar! Which restaurant is more of a traditional menu?
As do DW and I. We’ll be staying offsite next trip - we want something more than a hotel room but can’t justify the cost of a suite even if we could get one, so we've rented a villa for 3 weeks - but we shall be booking at least one Boma breakfast...Jumping in here - Boma has both (as my spouse puts it) "normal food" and also foods that are more traditional to countries in Africa. Sanaa is more Indian influence cooking ... absolutely delicious, but that's the difference that we've found between the two. FYI, I dream about Boma breakfasts. ;-)

I thought I would share that I e-mailed wdw to inquire about room refurbishment schedule. The sales and service team representative stated

Dear Susan,
Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort!
We are delighted that you are planning to visit us in April for your 30th Wedding Anniversary! Congratulations!
We would love to be able to assist you, however, our e-mail department cannot access the reservation system to confirm that request for you. However, you will be happy to know that refurbishments were completed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.
For assistance in verifying room specifics, making room requests, or any other changes to your existing reservation, please contact Disney Travel Operations at 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639). Reservation Specialists will be happy to assist you between 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m., Eastern Time, seven days a week.
If you made your reservation through a Travel Agency, please contact your Travel Agent or other third-party company directly, as they are the only ones with authorization to change or make requests on your reservation.
We look forward to hearing from you soon!
Sincerely,
Noelani

I totally agree with you! There is so much conflicting information from wdw regarding this that I am skeptical as well. Yes, folks currently staying there or have stayed more recently please let us know your first hand on site information!now we need someone there who am tell us what they are seeing to see if Noelani who can not access reservations knows what she is talking about. I was there 1/25-1/27 and there were the cranes near the windows by the pool. Maybe other places but that is where I saw them. Report people!
Any eta in the referb? We went in dec and had sanna dinner and it sucked with all the windows blacked out due to referb.I just went online to chat with a CM. They reported that the room refurbishments are NOT complete. I do enjoy the "magic" of Disney. However, without concrete information, and the expense of a resort night, I must truly decide if it is worth the expense. We may go to see only the resort and have a bite there. Given the lack of true transparency with the company these days, I cannot make that kind of splurge. Walt Disney World is a special place, but it is sad that it has become very, very expensive. Walt Disney World is starting to become out of range financially. It is no longer an option on the list for many families and individuals. AKL is unique, and I believe some of us (hence this amazing forum) might be willing to add a stay to our "bucket" list; but the frustration of being told inaccurate information consistently makes me say...hmm...maybe not. I apologize for the "vent". But the first and second sentence of my post is really all anyone needs to know. Thanks to those who may have read on .
If it makes you feel any better you wouldn't have been able to see anything out the windows at dinner anyway, unless you happened to be there right at dinner opening. You cannot see out after dark.Any eta in the referb? We went in dec and had sanna dinner and it sucked with all the windows blacked out due to referb.
