Just got a Florida Resident email offer -SSR related

The values were also featured for $64 a night. I know there was talk about the other thread, where people were being bumped from values to rooms at SSR for no charge and a possible marketing angle. As an owner at SSR (or wherever) - how do you feel about this? Just curious. I've yet to receive an email offering Boardwalk or Beach Club studios for these rates! And we all know, never will.

Yeah, that rate has out for well over a month. But, it's interesting that they're actually sending out e-mails.

Yeah I got that email a few weeks ago, and I'm not even a FL resident! For some reason I always get the FL resident email newsletter, which this offer was a part of. Isn't it similar to the new discount that just became available to the general public?

Back in 96, there was an offer for 25% off the rack rate for a Boardwalk studio in the Entertainment Book. I was surprised since I'd never known Disney to offer anything like that. I booked a studio, and when we got there we were upgraded to a one bedroom. We paid $219 a night. Of course the promotion was to sell BW, but the only way we knew that was when they called and asked us if we'd be interested in seeing the model unit. At first we said no, but then later we did listen to the presentation. (We still didn't buy until 2003) I suspect they are trying to do the same with the remaining inventory of SSR. Last I heard, they were 75% sold, and they won't have more than two new areas for sale at the same time. Right now that's VAK and SSR.

Last summer, friends of ours got a fantastic rate at VWL (can't remember exact $s, somewhere @ $149/studio). She didn't mention if any other DVcs were offered, and since WL is their favorite, didn't take notice of any others.
