My family just threw out this crazy idea of taking a vacation to Vegas. I don't like the idea but am trying to be fair.

First off, I don't want to stay in a hotel with strip shows or adult entertainment. I don't like gambling but as long as I am not assaulted with it at every turn-I would deal with it.

No smoking!!! Any public enclosed area that had a smoking section would be impossible. I have a trach, ventilator, and asthma so smoking would ruin any fun.

How is the wheelchair accessibility? Any rides you can mark off. Shows/tours would be the only possibility. But I don't see any exhibits mentioning accessibility. Shows don't comment. And what about rooms?

I don't want to sit around all day and then see one show each night. We can't swim, use a spa, go on rides, and don't gamble, drink, or watch adult entertainment...Realistically-is there going to be enough for us to do?

Thanks,
Christamae

Don't go to Vegas.

Gambling is everywhere even in the 7-11's. Adult entertainment depending on your definition is in probably 70% or the casino/hotels. But there are ad's everywhere.

Smoking is allowed everywhere, outside is the only guarenteed non smokey place and people smoke all along the steet as well.

Everyplace IS handicapped accesible buy honestly everything you don't want and don't do is the best reasons to go there.

If I was you I'd stay in a hotel without a casino (which is no fun for the rest of the people who do want to gamble) or stay at a casino and sit around all day and go to a show at night. There is lots of sightseeing things but you have to go to the casinos (smoking and gambling). I just don't know if you can find enough to do that doesn't involve what you don't like.

So my opinion is that this in not the right vacation location for you.

I agree with the above poster. If you can't be around smoke, steer clear of Vegas. The casinos are filled with smoke and you'll even get whiffs of it just walking down the street. There are a few fun places to go that don't involve gambling, but not enough to make it worth a trip. Not all of the shows are for adults only (Blue Man Group is excellent). But, again, I wouldn't go to Vegas just for a few shows. What I mostly enjoy there is just going to each casino, checking out the stores (a few have malls inside), maybe playing some slots. My sister absolutely hated Vegas and doesn't plan to go back. My husband and I liked it well enough. It's a matter taste, but it doesn't sound like it's the place for you.

I would love to here some more info on Vegas! I have been told that accessibility is great! While we are really not into gambing the shows sound great! If it's easu to get around the city, we would love to give it a try!

The whole smoking thing has kept me from going to vegas too!

I've been interested in going to vegas, but since people can smoke where ever they want, I won't go. If there is smoke everywhere, i get sick.

I suspect you wouldn't want to go since smoke is everywhere.

My parents love to goto vegas. They say, even in the non-smoking sections, of the casinos, people still go in there and puff away on their cigarettes, and walk on in and smoke away. This in particular turns me off to going.

If you need information on vegas...the DIS has you covered ! head on over to the CA/West board of the DLR section !

Two comments on Las Vegas. It is huge - it can take 20 minutes to walk from the hotel entrance to your room - through or near a casino. Although I'm all hotels are accessible, they are HUGE. Smoking is everywhere.

If you don't drink or gamble, and smoke is an issue, stay away from Las Vegas...
