Luggage Fees?

All your luggage gets x-rayed. The difference is that checked luggage goes through a bigger machine behind scenes after it is handed off and your carry on bags are put through an x-ray machine as you enter the terminal.

Also, some may not know (and I have never, ever seen it enforced) but there is a limit of two bags per person as stated in the Terms & Conditions of DCL.

BAGGAGE, VALUABLES AND OTHER POSSESSIONS
Each Guest may bring aboard the ship a reasonable amount of clothing and personal effects without charge, not to exceed 2 bags per person. All Guest baggage must be stored in the Guest's stateroom and must be labeled with the Disney Cruise Line baggage tag.

If anyone brings more than two suitcases per person and there's more than two people in the room, good luck finding a place to store all of it.

All the time...it's so annoying because the halls are narrow to begin with and you have cleaning carts, strollers and wheelchairs to squeeze past. I'm sure it's not allowed but many people do it
I have seen the electric carts outside in the hallways.

It depends on the size of the room of course. A small inside cabin with two people and 4 bags maybe a little tight. Yet most would still fit under the bed.

We don't bring that much luggage but the luggage we do bring for our family of four, we end up unpacking everything and then nesting all of our suitcases and storing under the bed. We have stored 6 pieces of luggage and several backpacks this way and kept our room clutter-free!

I'm wondering if that is two checked bags per person...
I mean honestly I am a super super light packer.

In our day bags I plan for his iPad (because he will use it in the terminal) swimsuits, flip flops, sunscreen, chargers, room door decor, FE hanging thingy, maybe the breakable FE gifts.. Undecided. and my camera.

Then the big bag for me and the toddler probably won't exceed a medium sized duffel for three nights, but I will have a larger luggage bag, because, we are in an ornament exchange, and 3 FE groups. lol.

I do believe that is for checked baggage....and honestly in my 38 DCL cruises I have NEVER seen or heard of anyone being talked to about excess luggage. We have brought many carry ons with us....rolling duffles, backpacks, diaper bags, etc.

I know about the luggage scanner and about the i have to keep it with me, I just want to be sure more than 1 bag per person is okay.

After spending time in WDW pre-cruise, I can tell you we have boarded more than once with lots of carry-ons and nothing was ever said. The luggage stacked for easy mobility, but we had to take them all apart and send them through the machines separately once at security.

Ha...I'm currently laughing to myself at the vision of my family of 5 lugging 10 suitcases AND our carry-on stuff. :rotfl2:

Our first cruise, I packed and repacked because I wanted to fit my family of 5 gear into 2 suitcases for the plane. This time, I think we are driving, I hope I can still be as efficient. :-)
