most rudest, ignorant, disgusting thing at WDW

I found the ruidest behavior was that of a woman who had tried to elbow her way in front of me while my family and I waited for the parade to begin. We planned it out by sitting in our spots along the parade route about 30 minutes ahead of time where I could take pictures without standing up (it was a good photo spot). Well, 2 minutes before parade time a woman's foot squeezed into the 3" of space that was between me and the stroller next to me. In total belief that this woman was really intending on squeezing in and standing there, blocking my view of the oncoming parade, had blown my mind! So, I stood up hoping she would back off and give me some room. But instead, her elbow went up with her super deluxe 35mm camera in hand--right in front of my face! Set on getting her photos, I had no chance of getting a decent photo of my own so I asked the woman to back up and give me some room. She then started complaining loudly to someone behind us (perhaps it was her husband) as if I was ruid for not letting her squeeze in! She really wouldn't budge! I had to remain standing to get my photos. If I would've sat back down she would have stepped right over me! I really wanted to push her about 10 feet back, but of course, not in Disney!

As a security CM, I have interacted with many rude people..I can't count the number of times I've had smoke blown in my face while asking people to put out there cigarettes. I've also been SCREAMED out by folks who didn't want their bags inspected before entering the park. Have a GREAT DAY!

SnowWhiteGirl: I hope you come back to see this. From a WDW lover, fanatic, addict -- all that stuff: THANK YOU for the tremendous job you do. You put up with so much grief every day, all day long. I know I don't say it enough to CM's -- so here's a big HUG and another THANK YOU for your hard work to make sure WDW remains the most magical place on earth!

I am surprised that line cutting is a problem. I found that it mostly policed itself.

The two times I was most afraid I was going to die. The first involved an armed robbery. The second was at WDW. The crowd was thick, the day was long and my two kids wanted ice cream. Trying to help DW keep track of them, I steped into line to get the ice cream. Little did I know (but I soon found out) that the line was curving and I stepped into the middle of the curve, 4 people from the cart and about 25 people from the end. I vaugely recall the din of the crowd rising slowly and slowly until I realized that the yelling was at me, and everyone was stareing at me. As soon as I realized what I had done, I jump out of line. By that time I was next in line, and went to the end, much to the cheers and jeers of the crowd. The people that were immediately behind me understood my distractions and were very good about it. The folks about 10 people back had that pitch fork and torch look about them.

I appolgized profusely all they way back, but there was no fogiveness to be had. Moral, don't mess with a persons Micky Bar.

the worst thing i had happen was at MK last july. some (insert really nast word of your choice here) walked over my son. no we were not sitting on the ground waiting for a parade. we were walking into Tomorrow Land and some man walked over my son. then had the nerve to give ME a dirty look. i guess my son was walking in his path or something.

I have never experienced any rude, obnixous, or disgusting people at WDW. I do have a comment for Horizons16 though.

As for people running you over with "scooter things" Sometimes I don't think it is a matter of being run over. You may not see the people on the "scooter things" and step out in front of them. It is very difficult to get a "scooter thing" stopped. I know because I drive a "scooter thing". I always try and stay to the right as far out of peoples way as possible. I wouldn't be in a "scooter thing" if I didn't have to be. I am also sure I am not the only one that feels this way. A "scooter thing" makes our life much easier not only for ourselves but for our family.

I feel I am going off in a rant so I'm going to stop right here.

One more thing, Please don't refer to it as a "scooter thing", the right terminology is Scooter, ECV, or an Electronic piece of durable medical equipment.

One of these times (& it happened more than once) my DW almost cryed because we had waited patiently for our turn & were cut repeatedly by parents pushing their kids in front of us until the CM & character left. I know the CM is there to protect/guide the character & it was time for the character to take that much needed break, but a little crowd control (& courtesy) would have been nice.

While I understand it's easier to just let the CM take care of crowd control, sometimes you just need to take things into your own hands. "Pardon me, I belive I was next in line." works wonders and no more tears!

I have enjoyed reading everyone's experiences over the last couple days. Thank goodness these tales are the exception and not the rule!

A couple years ago, my DS (5 yo at the time) was getting a little testy in MK during our last day of a seven day assault on WDW. He wasn't having a tantrum, or bothering anyone (other than his parents!) but was visibly displeased. We were in Tomorrowland near the entrance to Astro Orbiter and a talking trash can started a conversation with him! It shocked DS out of his bad mood and gave the rest of the family a great laugh!

Perhaps more of trash cans should be used throughout the parks to confront rude or unhappy people in a non-threatening manner!

Eeyore1954: THANK YOU, you absolutely just made my day...I wish all guests could be like you...personally I'm just doing my job. I was a guest before I ever worked here and I know how much Disney means to me so I strive to make it even more magical for every person I come in contact with.
I always did get in trouble for being too perky and cheerful.... :)

The deliberate inconsiderate behavior of people, especially those groups who pretend not to understand English when confronted but understand perfectly the next minute.

snowwhitegirl,
I was at Disney last week and I could not believe that I saw some people getting very offended with the security checks. One lady who was asked to remove the contents of her backpack yelled, "You better ask everyone to take their stuff out too"! Then she proceeded to call the security guard some very un-Disney like names as she walked into the Magic Kingdom. I really feel for you and those in your position. You still manage to do it with a smile on your face.:)

My first trip to Disney was 3 years, for my 32nd birthday. DSO and I were staying at AS Movies and loving everything Disney. That is, until our first trip to the Mighty Ducks pool. An ignorant GM/Lifeguard was making loud comments to some guests about the characters, along the lines that most are gay men, though his language was much more colorful and ignorant. Yet, it wasn't the homophobia that bothered me as much as the fact that he "told" that the characters aren't real. There were some small children at the pool. If they had heard it would have been akin to killing Santa Claus.

I must say I have never encountered anything rude or disgusting at WDW. Guess I'm lucky, or just very unobservant. lol

I remember a minor incident that could have been worse....

We were at one of the quiet pools at Coronado Springs a couple years ago. A group of women, speaking both English and another language, came out to the same pool after a while. They then proceeded to take off their bathing suit tops so they could sunbathe topless.

The lifeguard RAN over to them and told them they were not allowed to take their bathing suits off in WDW. They suddenly pretended to not understand English. He then told them if they didn't get dress immediately, he would escort them off WDW property. "Suddenly" they realized they did in fact speak English, and put their tops on. Then they left the pool area in a huff, saying nasty things to the CM over their shoulders as they walked away. Like he cared.....

I was glad there weren't any kids there to witness the situation.
