New announcement from ABD

So I registered as an insider but when everyone else got Big Hero 6 tickets we didn't. I emailed ABD then they said I was registered and they were sorry we had been left out. This time we didn't get the letter so I emailed them again and included the previous email from Nov 2014. I wanted to share the response I received today because there maybe be someone else besides me with the same issue.

Thank you for your e-mail.

I truly regret any confusion or disappointment. Unfortunately, our
records indicate your address has been registered with the National Do
Not Contact registry. As such we are not permitted to send out
promotional materials, including Adventure Insider mailings. The only
way to reverse this is to create a new profile with a separate email and
physical mailing address.

Again I regret any disappointment.

I didn't know there *was* a Do Not Contact registry for addresses. :( Sorry that means they can't send you stuff. But I assume you could still call ABD and book the River cruise tomorrow if you're a Member.

It is for junk mail but the way I understand it if you request to be on a list they are allowed to send you things. But who knows it doesn't stop the stupid junk mail from coming that I wanted to stop. It stopped something I really wanted I did what she said and used my dad's address. Hopefully that will work.

I wonder if they will include the pre-nights in Prague since that's how AMAwayerways does it? I guess they will fill up the boat with ABD people since they will have 8 guides!

The pre-nights are an add-on. Looks like it's only available for the East-bound trips.

EIGHT Guides??? So it won't have the same feel as a regular ABD, where you do everything with the same people, and get to feel like a family... I wonder how many people the ship holds? I guess I need to finish reading that article!

Being on the phone Do Not Call List doesn't stop the scammers, either. :( I hope the "new" address works!

A regular river boat holds about a hundred guests. They divide the whole boat in smaller groups so I would think groups of 15-20 per guide? Activities are rotated so one group does one thing while the other does another.

Just back from our second ABD (Ecuador and Galapagos)--I didn't get the mailing, should have been in my mail pile when I got home. I was checking in because I was curious about the new offerings. There was chatter about it amongst our group on the trip last week.

I found the answer. 164 guests, 8 guides.

SHOOT. Just saw the USA Today post. We just did Prague and Vienna with ABD this past summer. As much as I would LOVE to try the new riverboat concept with them, the itinerary just doesn't make sense. I REALLY REALLY hope they will announce the 2016 itineraries tomorrow in conjunction with
The 2016 itineraries won't be announced until June 9th...

What doesn't make sense about the itinerary?

So is anyone else looking at booking this later today? I'm looking at July 21st. :)

I personally don't care for it. What I would like is for disney to increase the length of some of the trips they already have , for instance

I would send them another letter and ask the to direct you to the law that states they can't send you mail or email, the only registry that exists is the do not call not do dnot contact sounds like they are trying to cover for their own inadequacies and that is bull in my opinion.

We are looking at booking the July 7 trip with a post 3 day ABD in Prague. However, that one seems to be a DVC member exclusive and can't be booked until April 21st.

I don't know exactly what registry they are referring to. I don't think I've heard of a "Do Not Contact" registry. But I am on the national do not call and the state do not call, where you provide your phone number. And I signed up for a no solicitation list (don't remember if it was local, state, or national) where I provided my address. I always receive all of the mailings from ABD.

Tobi - where are you seeing the info about the Prague add on? And have you seen any diagrams of the ship? I'm trying to figure out what the room categories are.

The deck plans are there. If you click on the categories, you get descriptions, floor plans, etc.

There's a LOT of layers to the pages about this trip. You need to really dig to find some of the pages.

Here's the daily itinerary, note there's a Westbound and an Eastbound itinerary.

And this is for the Prague pre-/post- days tour:

I am confused as to the room categories. Why are some specifically marked triple occupancy? If I book for 2 adults and 1 child can I only select category BA?
