That's pretty impressive! What do you think of the Tamron? I had an 18-300 before going full frame and had no idea they had gone to 400 now. I really needed something like that on our trip to Sanibel. I dug out the old crop sensor for the extra reach but still needed more.

Thanks! I really like it for travel photography although it took awhile to get used to taking close-ups (I'm still forgetting to walk back a few steps sometimes). The reviews praised its' ability to get sharper hand-held shots and I would definitely agree! I rarely use a tripod and found this true! The shot shown here on the south side of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone was taken from an overlook on the north side; quite a distance away. Even shots taken from the car window while riding came out well. The downside for me though is that the lens is my heaviest one but it has supplanted my 18-135 for travel at least.
