Pin Trading and 11-16 Wonder

O.K. I've seen people talking about it and tried to read up on it, but I'm still confused about Pin Trading ( No surprise, I know). In any case, should I be bringing pins from home (baltimore crabs, etc?) or do we get them on the ship. I checked out the "look who's cruising" board and it seems that many folks are looking forward to Pin Trading. Just want to make sure we don't "miss the boat" so to speak.
