Hi everyone!

Just wanted to get a thread started for the future PI's that may be starting this June.

Please feel free to vent:confused: , cheer :rotfl: or freak out:confused3 , if needed, while waiting for "the call".:woohoo:

As a possible PI for DAK, I know I was told today during my interview that I would be notified by May 1st either way. What PI are you applying for?

Nic

Hi! I'd like to freak out... :rolleyes1

I've applied for Guest Relations, Data Collections Specialist, Media Relations, Entertainment Resource Center Internship.

I'm pretty sure I wont get the ERCI. I've only been through the first interview and they're suppose to make their decision by April 4th (my birthday!).

I haven't heard back anything for a second interview. I've mailed in my WDW Professional Application and I have my phone attached to me just in case they call!

It's either a PI or the casting center for me at the end of May! I guess we'll just see how it goes!

Good luck to all! :cheer2:

I gotta ask, was it a phone call or letter? How long ago had you interviewed? Are you planning on living at Northbridge?

It's good to see someone else from the north east! Where are you going for school and for what?

tinyt396, yeah CT! What internships have you applied for? Hopefully more calls will be going out soon!

Brose244, I got a phone call from central casting last night (Sat April 5) at 9:30pm. The girl told me she just had a few questions to finalize my application process (do I have any tatoos, do I have transportation, etc.) and then offered me the position after I had finished with the questions. Apparently I will be getting an email in the next day or so to finalize the acceptance and it will include more information about the position, so I assume this will be the same process for everyone. I had my phone interview with animal programs on March 7, so the wait was killing me. But now that the application deadline has passed more calls will probably be going out this week for people who applied early in the game.

I'm not planning on Northbridge, I think I'm going to look in Celebration for something.

I'm graduating from University of Connecticut in May (majored in Ecology and Evolutionary Bio). What about yourself? And what positions did you apply for?

Good luck guys!

Thanks SO much for the detail! You how it is to have NO info and wait for the unknown!

I graduated from UVM with a BS in Animal Sci and I'm finishing my Masters in Sci Ed.

I applied for the Conservation positions at DAK, so if I get one I'm sure we will meet! :wizard: Do you know how many opening there were in total? I forgot to ask that question. My interview was last Tuesday so who knows when I'll find out.

Did they ask you any weird questions? Could you tell from the interview that you were "in"? Do you know of others from the NE area going down in June?

Thanks again for all the insight!

That's awesome!! Congrats!! I applied for a few internships and had my internship for Sales and Event Internship. I would actually be working in Celebration so I am looking for places around there as well. I am hoping to hear something soon since its hard to make plans if I don't know if I have the internship. My parents are being very supportive and think I should go down and get a job full time at Disney if I don't get internship.

Congrats, I had my interview on the same day you did on March 7th. I applied for DAK conservation as well, I guess this means if I haven't got a phone call or email, I didn't make it!!!!!!!! LOL!!! So depressing!!!

Hopefully, we should get a phone call, if I get rejected, I think I might cry for weeks!!!! It makes me nervous, seeing other people get email and phone calls!!! I panic everytime, I heard the phone rang or check my email!!!!

I definitely will!!!!!!! Good luck to us, and everyone playing the waiting game!!!!!!!! On the mean time, to get our minds off of this way, we can worry about not staying in Northbridge and finding decent apartments!!!

Megan,

Thanks a lot!! I'm really excited, but there's a lot of information I still don't know. My recruiter told me that I won't know specific job duties or hours for working in the Disney Learning Center until I arrive.

The first day is June 20th, and that's kind of a check-in day to get you moved in and set up with everything on the job. :cool1:

So far the all correspondence has been in person (at my interview) and over the phone, but I was told that most correspondence from this point forward would be via email.

After I officially accepted the offer, I had to fill out a form over the internet, and I checked there that I would be interested in living in the Northbridge Apartments. I was told that there is a limited number of apartments for PIs, and if more people sign up than there are apartments available, then they have a drawing at random. If you are not selected, you are responsible for finding your own housing. In that case, there are Disney people that help you with that. And you should know by early May whether or not you'll be in NB.

The NB arrangements are 4 people per 2 bedroom apt and 5 people per 3 bedroom, so you do have to share a room with someone...

I've heard that PI wages vary from job to job, but I'll be making $9.95 per hour with 30 hours guaranteed per week. But the hours vary depending where you work and the specific job you have. Oh, and rent at NB is $131 per week- even though the PI website says $129...

The last day of the program is January 2, 2009. That's all I can think of right now...

I hope that helps someone... but I think others have said pretty much the same stuff on various threads.

I can't wait for everyone to get their phone calls-- LET US KNOW!!!!

Hey! I'm pretty sure for the AK positions there is only one intern for AKL, guest ed, group ed, and community ed (but I'm not 100% certain). I know for the ed presenters they hire an entire team, I think roughly 10-15 people per term. If you just interviewed last Tuesday you might have to wait one or two more weeks. I know I was driving everyone around me insane for the past month while I waited!

In the beginning of the interview I was so nervous that I was rambling a bit and my voice was shaking :rotfl:, but I calmed down and felt like I did well for the rest of it. The questions weren't so much weird, just difficult and required thorough answers (like the one about integrity and what one message about conservation would you want guests to come away with). Everyone on my panel (I had a phone interview) was very professional but at the time they really gave no hints as to whether I had made it or not.

So far I haven't really heard about other PIs from NE (though it seems like everyone from my home town is trying to get to FL in one way or another!) I hope you hear something soon :) ! More calls will probably be going out this week, but they'll also be going through applications and doing interviews for those that applied at the last minute.

Doing the math that would leave you with $670 a month to live off of. I can't figure if that is good or bad. Plus, I just remembered I didn't take out for taxes or figured in any extra hours... YIKES

Megan, thank you for being so honest and upfront AND detailed. :goodvibes Let's stay in touch!

Thanks SO much for the pep talk! :woohoo: I never thought I would be so pins and needles about this. Yeah, the integrity threw me off, but not more than 'what disney character can you identify with and why?' What did you say?
